Virginia Louise Edwards, age 78, of Jordan passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the Garfield County Health Center in Jordan surrounded by family.
Virginia was born in Hamlet, Nebraska on December 10, 1926, the daughter of James and Alice Synder Dawes. She attended schools in Douglas, Wyoming where she graduated from high school. Following her schooling, she moved to the tri-cities during World War II. She married Fred Edwards in Douglas, Wyoming on October 14, 1950. Following their marriage, they moved to Cohagen, Montana in 1950, where they operated their sheep ranch until she semi-retired. In 1983, she moved into Jordan but she always stayed active in the ranch.
Virginia loved to paint and became an accomplished artist. All who visited and knew Virginia marveled at her friendliness, unselfishness and cooking ability. She loved her family and spending time with them. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed the years when they hosted many rodeos at the ranch over the years.
Virginia is survived by two sons: Frank (Rose Marie) Edwards and Bruce Edwards both of Jordan, MT; a daughter, Christine Edwards of Billings, MT; granddaughter Nicole (John) Graham of Jordan, MT, a mother, Alice Dawes of Jordan, MT; a brother, DeWayne Dawes of Riverton, WY; two sisters: Mary Alice (John D.) Murnion of Jordan, MT; Alta Menard of Nampa, ID; brother-in-laws Bill Jone's of Casper, WY, Dennis Irwin of Douglas, WY and Tory Dawes of Eugene Oregon, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, her husband Fred in 1970, a daughter Corrine Corky Murnion, a grandson, Bryan Edwards (whom Virginia thought the world of), a brother, Bob Dawes, a sister, Mickey Jone's, and a brother-in-law, Pete Menard.
