Virginia L. Reed Muri passed away at the age of 89 on Thursday, February 14, 2013. She was born in Bartlesville, OK on 2/27/1923 to Ike and Ruth Reed. Mom moved with her family around the country while growing up finally settling in Cartersville, MT. Mom graduated from Rosebud High School in 1941. Mom and Dad were married on 12.13. 1941 and they were married for 71 years.
To Mom, family meant everything. Every holiday we would all get together and Mom would put on a big feast. She was known for her wonderful cooking. She never wanted recognition for anything and stayed in the background but was always there when someone needed her. Mom had a special spot in her heart for each and everyone of us and had no problem showing us how special we were to her. She was the glue that kept us all together.
Mom is survived by her husband William “Bill” Muri, son Wayne of Miles City and daughter, LeeAnn (Clyde) Lees of Billings; her grandchildren, Brad (Michelle) Muri, Kristen and Madison of Billings; Stacey (Jim) Hill, Chase, Jarrett and Brandon; Craig (Charlotte) Muri, Jensen and Cameron of Miles City and Clay Rogers, Braylon and Chloe of Billings; step grandsons Trice (Sarah), Gracie and Sam Lees of Park City, Tracy Lees, Bailey; and Kyle (Stephanie) Lees, Jade, Madelyn and Little Clyde all of Billings.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents, Ike and Ruth Reed; Brothers Billy and Jack and her sister, Manita who were all waiting for her and now they are all together again.
Mom, we all love you and miss you so much but we know that you are up in Heaven happy again and without pain which means so much to us. Remember what Dad always told you as you were leaving to go to church on Sunday morning – : sing loud, Chickie”. Well, we’re telling you now to turn up the volume and sing loud enough so we can all hear you. Until we meet again you are in our hearts forever.
The family would like to thank the staff at both the Extended Care at Holy Rosary and also Friendship Villa for the wonderful care you gave to Mom during the last years of her life. It really meant a lot to us.

Dear Bill and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We sure enjoyed Virginia’s visits in the summer when she would drive up to see our Mom, Patty. She always took the time to come see us too. She loved our family too. The kids and I have wonderful memories of picking apples at Muri’s. They were allowed to climb the trees too! God Bless You.

Dear Family and Friends of Virginia Muri, even though I did not personally know Mrs. Muri, the loss of every human life is significant to me and should be valued by all. The Bible book of Hebrews reminds us that God does not forget all of the love and fine works shown by Mrs. Muri (Heb 6:10). We are also promised that there will be a time in which pain that we now experience with this loss “will not be called to mind” (Isaiah 65:17) The promise of Paradise, the perfect conditions God intended for mankind, will be fulfilled (Ps. 37:11). Meanwhile we have the opportunity to follow Jesus’ instruction to continue to take in Bible knowledge that leads to everlasting life (John 17:3).). Hopefully faith in these Bible promises will ease the pain from this loss as you look forward to seeing Mrs. Muri again. Please be comforted by these thoughts.

Linda St. John (Kowis) says
Bill, LeeAnn and Wayne – I was moved to tears to see that Sinner had passed away. She and Bill were very dear friends of my folks until the time of their deaths. I expect that she and Mom are catching up with all the “news” right now. I remember Sinner’s laugh, always looking at the positive side and always a pleasure to spend time in her presence.
Know that you are in my thoughts today and for the days of healing to come.
With hugs and prayers –
Linda

Colleen Johnson says
To her husband, Bill, and to her children, Wayne and LeeAnn,
I wish I had hear of her passing. I surely would have attended he funeral. Please accept my condolences for your loss. I loved this woman as a second Mom. I should have been a better friend and stayed in touch. Sometimes life throws us curve balls …. my favorite memories of her were when I was privileged enough to stay hat her house. She was such a good cook and a great gardner. I remember her quietly coming in to the bedroom early each morning to open the window a little to let in the fresh air and i would turn over and go back to sleep safe in the knowledge that I would be nurtured and loved by this woman …. what a great role model she was….
