Wanda L. Helm, age 76, of Miles City, MT passed away on July 10, 2015 at Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City.
Wanda L. Frazier was born to Harold and Mabel (Smith) Frazier on January 19, 1939 in Wolf Point, MT. She was joined by four siblings Milo Frazier, Melba Mann, Harold Jr. (Nibs) and Gary Lynn. Wanda attended country school in McCone County. She and her sister Melba stayed in the dorms in Wolf Point while they were going to high school. Wanda decided to quit high school, began working and completed her GED later. She was married to Don Helm for many years and helped raise his six children. While she was living in Miles City she worked at the Gas Light, a drug store, the court house and finally Wal-Mart. She also worked as a bartended for many years around Miles City and was fond of Parkers. She spent lots of time there, enjoying the different celebrations.
Wanda was a true horse lover she loved being around them and in her younger years she was a barrel racer, she was also a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, something she was always very proud of.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Mabel; one brother, Milo and a very special friend Bob Baezler. She is survived by her two brothers, Gary and Harold Gibbs; one sister, Melba; six step-children, Debbie Valencia, Denise Helm, Donnie Helm, Dori Boulanger, Derre Helm and Dan Helm; nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Stevenson and Son’s Funeral Home. Should friends desire condolences can be made to the family by visiting stevensonandsons.com. Memorials can be made to the Miles City VFW.
