On August 8, 1977, Waylon Todd Reno was born the first child of Joyce and Bill Reno. Waylon was born and raised in Miles City but he was by nature a country kid, loving the time he spent with his maternal grandparents, Jim and Bertha Roufley near Brusett, Montana.
Often, when he was outside, playing, he would encounter a water puddle and couldn’t help himself. He had to wade through it and if splashing was involved, all the better. Mom would chastise him but she knew full well he was just being a boy.
His elementary and secondary education was in the Miles City school district, eventually graduating from Miles Community College with an emphasis in mechanics but he preferred being outdoors more than schoolwork.
His first job, during his high school years, was at Friendship Villa where he enjoyed caring for the residents. He moved on to working for Blue Rock Distributing. The Bakken Oil field was in full swing and called him to join it. He operated a chemical van and other jobs for SanJel for a couple of years. He returned to Miles City and became a truck driver for Bill Eckart of Eckart Trucking, a job he truly loved and was his occupation until his untimely passing.
Waylon packed a lot of life into his short time here on earth. He loved to hunt and fish. His fall days were often filled with hunting deer, elk and prairie dogs with fishing filling any available time. He loved watching wrestling and football, with his very favorite Professional team being the Dallas Cowboys, a team he rarely missed when they were on tv.
During the time when the trucking was at a standstill, he enjoyed working with Jeremy Schell at his meat processing plant on Tongue River road. This also gave him more opportunities to hunt with Jeremy and other friends.
Waylon was well known for his happy go lucky attitude and ready wit and was always willing to help anyone with anything at any time. Hard work was his lifestyle, and he did it with a passion.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Bertha Roufley, and Clarence and Irene Reno, his father Bill and his step grandmother Bonnie Holmlund and numerous aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his children Tristan, Bailey and Riley, Mother Joyce and step father Ken, sister Joni Hauber (Mike) and their sons Trevor and Jax and numerous cousins and relatives and his greatly loved pet “my puppy Tessy” who he often visited at Joni’s house.

I’ve known Waylon for 20+ years. Going to miss our random movie quoting from Step Brothers, Talladega nights and Super Troopers. Always getting random text messages saying “ I might’ve just done something or guess what I did” Which always ended up referring to him buying another gun lol
Phone calls talking about fishing while we both try to convince mom(Joyce) That we need the Cabela’s card so we can go get ourselves a New fishing boat because the season is right around the corner lol
