Wayne Michael ‘Wally’ Martenson, 57, died unexpectedly December 8, 2018, at his home in Miles City.
Wayne was born on July 22, 1961, in Miles City, a son of Wallace (Wally) and Dawn (Mack) Martenson. He was educated in Miles City and lived there his entire life.
As a child Wayne always had an interest in taking things apart to see how they worked and as he got older he figured out how to put them back together. He trained in mechanics at Miles Community College and worked on vehicles all of his life. He especially liked muscle cars. One of his last projects was his Dad’s 1952 Hudson Hornet that he was in the process of restoring. Wally bought the Hudson before he met Dawn and they drove it for many years.
Wayne loved blues music and occasionally went to blues concerts. He loved spending time with his friends, talking about cars, watching drag races and winning (again and again and again) on Trivia Night. He enjoyed watching softball and Dancing with the Stars. He knew a lot about history, especially anything Titanic and World War II. Wayne enjoyed bowling, kids and pets, and coming up with clever Halloween costumes.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father Wally, his mother Dawn, his grandparents, cousin Steve Martenson, and all of his aunts and uncles.
Wayne is survived by his sister, Corliss, of Glendive and his brother, Chris, of Rock Springs, and by several cousins.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 21, at 2 p.m. at the Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City with Pastor Ken Evans officiating. A reception will be held after the service. A plaque will be placed on his parents gravesite at a later date. Donations may be sent to the charity of

Sending my sincere condolences for the loss of Wayne. Losing someone you loved so dearly is heartbreaking, and I want to share a comforting scripture with your family. It is found at Psalms 55:22 where it says, “Throw your burden on Jehovah, And he will sustain you. Never will he allow the righteous one to fall.” We are assured of God being there to help you through this difficult time.
