Wendeline Shoulderblade Neiss, age 56 began her journey to our Creator Maheo on May 15, 2008 surrounded by her family at St. Vincents Hospital in Billings due to a long illness.

She was born and raised in Lame Deer, a daughter of Wendell Turkey and Ruth Blackwolf Shoulderblade. Wendeline was a member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe. Her Cheyenne Indian name was Peekaae (Paigen Woman) and was named after her late paternal grandmother, Molly Shepherd from Oklahoma. Wendeline was united into marriage to Lawrence Neiss Sr. in 1970 at the Lame Deer Menonite Church. She had two sons, Lawrence Jr. Sioux Boy and Clayton Oly Neiss of Lame Deer. She was a great mother to her sons, and always made sure their needs were met. She was a believer of the Cheyenne Traditional ways of life, always supporting her family in sundances and sweats.She attended St. Labre School and Northern Cheyenne Tribal School. She worked for the Northern Cheyenne Elderly Program worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, having family barbeques and listening to country western songs. Her favorite singer, Conway Twitty. She loved expressing her love for her family, relatives and friends.

Wendeline was preceded in death by her parents, paternal grandparents, Pius & Ethel Woodenlegs Shoulderblade, maternal grandparents, Ben & Ella Walkslast Blackwolf, maternal uncles, Henry & James Blackwolf, her brothers, Bernadine Sr. Wendell Jr., & Dennis Shoulderblade Sr., her sister, Kathryn Shoulderblade and her nephew, Dustin Two Moons.She is survived by her husband of 36 years, her two sons and her special granddaughter, Haven Neiss, her brothers, Don (Ruthie) & Francis (Charlene) Shoulderblade & Walter (Angela) Blackwolf, her sisters, Wilma Two Moons & Mary Shoulderblade, adopted sister Bonnie, (Orville) Belt, Katherine Foote, Leona Limberhand, Marcelline (Charles) Littleoldman, Annette Standingwater, Shirley, Esther & Serena Brady, Irene (Larry) Flying, Lavina Blackwolf, Jamie Whiteman, and Wretha Plentycamps. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Mary (Harold) Underwood, her Aunts, Fern Shoulderblade, Jennie Parker and Ella Walkslast. She was a special aunt to Hadley, Starla, Clint, Renecia, Keith, Halona, Thomas, Paschal, Crystallynn, Wendale, Lynn, Sheila, Derek, Tiffany, Talena, Detrich, Dyron, Tonielle, Donielle, Serena, Bernadine Jr., Berdine, & Vaughn Shoulderblade, Reanna & Austin Two Moons III & Cleve Lafranier.

Wendelines extended relatives include Shoulderblades, Blackwolfs, Weaselbears, Wolfnames, Fishers,Woodenlegs, Walkslast and other relative too numerous to mention.
