William Willie Francis Stuckey, age 37, of Moorcroft, Wyoming passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2003 near Moorcroft , Wyoming of injuries he received in an accident at his home.
Willie was born on April 6, 1966, the son of Calvin and Mary Ann (Linton) Stuckey in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. He attended grade school in Eastman, Wisconsin. In 1975, Willie moved to Gillette, Wyoming with his family where he attended Campbell County High School. Willie worked as a derrick hand on various oilrigs in Campbell County. On December 12, 1990, Willie married Karen Grable in Deadwood, South Dakota. The couple returned to Prairie du Chien and he worked on dairy farms, milking cows. In November 1991, Willie and his family returned to Gillette, where he worked on oil rigs in Campbell and Crook Counties. He also worked road construction for a few years. Willies recent work has been with Kennecott and the Jacob Ranch Mine as an equipment operator and later as a shovel oilier.
Willie enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing video games with his children. He had an ability and fondness for tinkering and fixing things with duct tape. Willie fixed cars and often took things apart and put them back together. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a workaholic and when he was not at work he would help his neighbors and friends with their special projects and home improvements.
Willie is survived by his wife, Karen Stuckey, his children Brad Stuckey, Josh Stuckey, Elizabeth Stuckey, and Kelly Stuckey, all of Moorcroft, Wyoming, Mother, Mary Ann Stuckey of Gillette, Wyoming, his two brothers, Alvin and Doug Stuckey of Gillette, Wyoming, his two sisters, Mae and April Stuckey of Gillette, Wyoming, his mother and father-in-law, Howard and Susan Grable of Gillette, Wyoming.
He is preceded in death by his father Calvin Stuckey in 1993 and his grandparents.
An educational memorial fund has been established for his children and may be sent to the Stuckey family in care of the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home 210 W. 5th St. Gillette, WY 82716.
