Willard Fromdahl

Memorial Service: Saturday, May 20, 2006 10 a.m. Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolf Point

Abraham Willard Fromdahl 85, formerly of Wolf Point, passed away May 15, 2006 in Glasgow Montana. Willard was born October 20, 1920 in Silver Leaf, North Dakota to Severt and Anna Smidt Fromdahl. The Fromdahls soon moved to the Sunnyside community south of Wolf Point to farm. As a child Willard attended Sunnyside School and Circle High School. During the Great Depression of the 1930s Willard worked in North West Montana for both the C.C.C. and the N.Y.A. camps. While working for the Great Northern Railroad Willard married Alta Mann on July 20th, 1941 in Circle, Montana. Willard and Alta were soon joined by their first child Nancy Ann in July of 1942. Willard continued to work for the railroad until 1945 when he and Alta purchased their farm in the Benrude Community north of Wolf Point. In June of 1946 Willard and Alta became parents again with the birth of their son Clifford.

Willard was a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolf Point where he held the offices of elder and president on several occasions. Willard was also a member of Lutheran Laymans League where he served as president of the Montana district. Willard was also a member of the local Farmers Union. After retiring from farming Willard enjoyed helping out the boys at Clayton Memorial Chapel and keeping busy. Willard loved to fish, garden, and spent time with his family outdoors.

Willard was proceeded in death by his brother Roy, wife Alta, son Clifford, and daughter Nancy. He is survived by his brother Robert (Iris) of Billings, Grandchildren Gregg (Michele) of Glasgow, Rodney (Amanda) of Missoula, Angie of Billings, and Sally of Billings, and great grandchildren Riley, Draven and Devin.

Funeral services will take place Saturday May 20, 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolf Point. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. A lunch will follow grave side services at Trinity Lutheran Church. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel is in charge of all arrangements.
