Private family graveside services for William Dailey, known to his family and friends as Bill will be at a later date.
William Bill Dailey was born January 24, 1919 the son of James and Myrtle (Ross) Dailey in Moberly, Missouri. Bill was raised and educated in Moberly until his enlistment in the U.S. Army, where he served until 1945. He returned to Missouri and married Betty Jean Wilson in October 1947. The couple moved to Peoria, Illinois, where they made their home. Bill worked as a machinist for CAT for forty-eight years. Alongside that job, he also worked for the Peoria Public Library. Several years into his retirement, Bill and Betty decided to come to Gillette, Wyoming to be near their children and grandchildren.
Bill enjoyed watching football; his favorite team was the Chicago Bears. He liked to help out his friends and family; but Bill will be most remembered for being able to see the best in everyone.
Bill is survived by one son, Donald C. Dailey; one daughter, Jill Derrickson, both of Gillette, Wyoming; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 2001; a daughter, Yvetta in 1984; and one brother.
