Interment: will follow in the family lot in the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City
William (Bill) Darwin Sturdevant, son of Lester and Ina Mae (Timberman) Sturdevant, passed away December 27, 2005 at Billings Clinic in Billings, MT.
He was born April 7, 1943 in the Darcy Hospital in Miles City, MT. He was raised and educated in Miles City, MT, graduating from Custer County High School in 1961. Bill was first married to Gayle Hodgson, having two children, Corrina Lyn and Jana Jo. He later married Marilyn McElwain and they had two sons, William Lee and Michael Ray. Bill worked for Range Rider Cab, Badlands Taxi Service and as a Corrections Officer at Pine Hills State School for Boys for 30 years. Bill was also a member of Degree of Honor.
Bill is survived by his two daughters Corrina Lyn Harrell of Wibaux, MT, Jana Jo Beall of Bend, OR; his son William Lee Sturdevant of Old Lyme, CT; nine grandchildren: Allyssa Nichole, Brant Michael, Danikka Leigh and Collin Scott Harrell of Wibaux, MT; Deedra Mae, Derek Nathan and Cameron Ashley Cox of Bend, OR; MacKenna Skye and Siobhan Brighde Sturdevant of Old Lyme, CT and one great-granddaughter: Myia Ann Briggs of Bend, OR; two sisters: Darline Hoff and Joan Ohnstad, a special brother-in-law Sam Ohnstad, sister-in-law Ynes Sturdevant extensive nieces and nephews and a close and personal friend, Larry Williams. He also leaves behind his special "friend" Thai.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Ina Mae Sturdevant; brother Gilbert Lee Sturdevant and son Michael Ray Sturdevant.
