Graveside Service:Montana State Veterans Cemetery on 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 26th.

Willis (Gene) Eugene Ransier, Sr., May 26, 1935 - July 19, 2010

Born May 26, 1935 in Pleasanton, Kansas to Jane Burris and Otis Ransier. At the age of 7, Gene moved from Kansas to White Sulphur Springs. As a young man Willis enlisted in the Navy. He met and married Elizabeth Ann Darrah in Townsend, MT on June 1, 1957. Gene worked at Asarco for over 42 years where he retired as a Forman in the Sampling department. Gene lived in East Helena and the Canyon Ferry area where Gene and Beth raised their three children, Betty, Willis Jr., and Dwight. Gene enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, playing cards, and Bingo. Gene was also a great dancer and loved to do so. In the younger years Gene raced stock cars at the Helena Valley Speedway and was an avid motorcycle enthusiast.

Gene is preceded in death by his mother and father, beloved wife Beth, first granddaughter Jamie Rae Ransier and several brothers and sisters.

Gene is survived by his daughter Betty Anna Routzahn (Keith), sons Willis Ransier Jr. (Becky), and Dwight Ransier (Stephanie); granddaughters Cory Baker (Kris), Jae Ha Routzahn, Keri Maes (Tomas), Kalli Kind (Jerry); grandsons Burt Ransier, Matthew Munson, Kurt Routzahn (Hilde), and Cory Budak; great-granddaughters Corrissa Baker, Emilie, Kathie and Janie Maes, Haylie, Kimberly and Kenzie Routzahn, and Ava Kind; great-grandsons Nolan and Marcus Baker and Kaden Routzahn; brother-in-law Harry Darrah (Esther), special family friends Diana Melton (Frank)and family; and several nieces, nephews, and brothers.
