Xavier Crazymule, Mahaa Ve’ho’e (Miles City) age 89 of Ashland, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Ponderosa Pines Health Care in Billings, Mt.
Xavier was born November 20, 1922 the son of Curtis Morrison and Lizzie Yellow Nose, in Miles City, MT.
Xavier was raised by his grandparents John and Genie Crazymule. He attended school at St. Labre Mission and later joined the Army on July 23, 1942. He served until he was honorably discharged on February 2, 1946. He united in marriage to Mary Woodenthigh, after Mary passed away he was with Rhoda Rowland and later married Ruth Yellowhair and made their home on the Tongur River in Ashland. Xavier enjoyed ranching and riding broncs at the rodeos. Xavier spoke Cheyenne fluently and spoke it often with his friends when he could. He loved his grandkids and was very close to them. Xavier also liked to take long walks and going to rodeos.
Xavier had 6 children Floyd , Boyd , Marcella Crazymule, Carol Kunkel, Clifford, Rose Dillard and stepdaughter Marie Sanchez. He also had two brothers, James Crazymule and Charles Crazymule, and one adopted sister Mary Whitehorse.
He is survived by his daughters, Carol Kunkel, Rose Dillard and his son Clifford Crazymule. He is also survived by his Grandchildren Frankie Martinez of New Jersey, Merlin (Maggie) Crazymule of Lame Deer, Rodney (Becky) Crazymule Hendricks of Forsyth, Stacey Crazymule of Tennesse, Clara (Vincent) Whitecrane, Rita ( Brandy) Crazymule, Leila (Cory) Pease, Alethea (Frank) Rollefson, Tonia Wick, Carol Cain, Warren Jergeson of Wyoming, Roger Dillard Jr, Justin, Joseph and Kara Kunkel. And numerous Great-Grandkids and even Great-Great Grandkids. Other relatives include the families of Yelloweyes, Foote, Fox, Woodenthigh, Seminole,m Redneck, Parker, Shoulderblade, Rowland, Brady, Kills Night, One Bear, Bahr, Spottedwolf, Lonewolf, Gray, Stands In Timber, Fire Crow, Bigheadman, our family is large. Sorry if we’ve forgotten any. One of his closest buddies, Melvin Woodenthigh, close friends Earl Birdchief, Pat Harris, Paul Littlehead, Charlton Yellowfox all the Fox boys, Jimmy, Richard, Edward and Joe, Andy Yelloweyes and many more.
He was proceded in death by Mary, Rhoda, Ruth, Floyd, Boyd, Marcella, Teddy, Melvin and Rosella Woodenthigh.
Traditional Wake Services for Xavier Crazymule will be at 7pm, August 1, 2012, and the funeral will be 11am on August 2, 2012 at St. Labre. Burial will follow at the St. Labre Cemetery.
