Zandra Zinda, age 60, of Miles City

May 31, 1964 – September 2, 2024

Our darling Zandy left this world on Monday, September 2 with her sister by her side, for death is not the opposite of life, but a part of it.

Zandra brought a special light to all who had the fortune to cross her path. Her greatest pride was her contribution to the produce and flower departments at Albertson’s. During her nearly 40-year tenure at the store, she developed many lifelong relationships with colleagues and customers.

Zandy led a simple life but enjoyed many small pleasures to their fullest: Rooting for the underdog, new earrings, a nice handbag, books, books, books and rock ‘n’ roll.

She is survived by her sister Johna Zinda Wilcox of Great Falls MT, best friend Meg Sampsel of Kalispell MT, her dogs Lemme and Jaeger, and Duncan Stanley of Miles City MT.

She was preceded in death by her father Anthony (Tony) H. Zinda, mother Connie Mae Zinda, sister Monique Zinda, and brother-in-law Robert Martin “Marty” Wilcox.
In Zandy’s honor, please be kind, honest and loyal to both strangers and those you love.

  2. What a sweet person! I am so sorry! She always greeted me with a smile and my son so enjoyed working with her.

I worked with Zandra at Albertsons – she was so fun to work with, always willing to help and patiently answer my questions, and I loved getting a “hi” and a quick hug from her when I’d come back to visit. May all who knew her have peace and comfort at this time as they reflect on cherished memories.

I received many flowers from her as her love for them and plants was well known. She loved to work and worked harder than most people. Rest in Peace dear Zandy. Blessings to her family.

  22. We only knew Zandy through Albertsons, but did know her Dad. We always thought alot of him, and enjoyed her at the grocery store. She was always upbeat and friendly. The world needs more like her, and she will definitely be missed, as evidenced by so many nice comments left here.

  26. Zandra was not only the best friend anyone could ever have, she was my soul sister. We shared life’s highs, and lows together. During the last four months of her life, she was met with many challenges. First off being diagnosed with an auto immune disorder that resulted in paralysis of her legs. She worked so hard to get better with both grace and grit. She was recently diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor which took her life. Her sister was by her side when she passed. I will forever love her and keep her in my heart. Like many have said Zandra was kind and had a smile like no other. She had a wicked clever sense of humor that I just adored. Rest easy, my dear friend, and I hope to see you on the other side.

I always loved the fact every time I saw her, she would always ask about my husband and son and that she really adored my parents back in the day. She was a very unique and special ray of light! She will be greatly missed!

  35. Oh Duncan and Johnna, I saw this and my heart just broke for you guys. Zandy was a very bright light in this world. It is definitely sad that I will no longer be able to see that young lady.   41. Zandy was always so sweet & kind & funny… I loved her smile & laugh. In highschool she and I would make cartoons together, passing them back and forth for the other to do the next frame… The ones I remember were Furbacious Kadoodles & adventures of Stoneyman that always started with a cartoon car with smoke erupting from it. Zandy you were one of a kind in absolutely the best way possible❤️Light things up,,up there! Hugs to all of her loved ones, knowing her was a blessing

  42. I was so sad to hear about the loss of Zandi. I had not seen her tending to the plants and flowers at Albertsons but had no idea what had happened. I do know that her friendly smile and knowledge of how to take care of her beloved flowers was so enjoyable. I always enjoyed seeing and visiting with her. May God make her the caregiver of his beautiful garden in heaven.

Many times going to and from Billings would stop at Albertsons to see her smiling face always a smile and a hug when she recknized me and then took an hour or more to get out of there I will always remember her smile and the way she greeted and enjoyed people. Hauled a lot of wheat into the elevator when her dad was in charge and he was respected also like she was at her job pretty sure mom and dad stopped hundreds of times at Albertsons in miles to see her. Well maybe mom dad probably sat in the car waiting She will be missed by many she always loved family

Like many who have shared fond memories of Zandy, I too enjoyed chatting with Zandy at Albertsons over the years. She always had a smile, was one of the hardest working and reliable workers you will find. Zandy ALWAYS took the time to talk to you and give you a hug. There was no one like Zandy. She was one of the kindest, most polite and genuinely sweet person left in this world; always thinking of others above herself. This world lost a wonderful soul. Our deepest condolences.
