On May 9, 2010 our beloved Mother, Daughter, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend Sandy at the age of 56, went home to be with her Lord after a courageous battle against cancer.

Zanthia Sandy Elizabeth Kenny was born March 14, 1954 in Harrison, AR to Robert and Ione Kenny, she was the fifth of eight children. The family followed the Lord in ministry to Brownsville TX, Centerville LA, Lambert MT, and finally settled in Richey MT. Sandy graduated high school in 1972. She moved to Miles City and attended Junes School of Cosmetology. After graduation she went to work at Junes Beauty Land, later establishing her own salon, Hair Success. She was married to Roger Knopp, to this union was born Justin Tait and Tanis Michelle. Her life forever changed on October 5, 1981 when she found the Lord. Sandy was a long time member of Third River Fellowship where she found peace and a lifetime of happiness. In 2000, Sandy fulfilled her lifelong dream of opening a Christian bookstore in Miles City, The LIGHT House, and was a cornerstone of Miles Citys downtown business district. She had such a heart for the Miles City and did many things for the community including being an integral part of bringing Christian Radio to the Miles City area. She was the vice-president of Vision of Light Radio. Sandy loved getting away with her sisters, weekend retreats to Fort Peck and everything that involved family, her children and grandchildren. She had a fantastic sense of humor, loved music and was never afraid to dance to her own beat. She cherished the quiet moments when she read her Bible, learning all of Gods love. She was at such peace during her battle with cancer, laughing often, always smiling, and was an inspiration for all who shared even a moment with her. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sandy Knopp is survived by her mother Ione Kenny of Richey, MT. She is also survived by her children and their families; Justin, Charity, Bailey and Bryson Knopp; and Tanis, Ryan, and Graysen Trenka; and her stepson Jerhomey Knopp. Sandy was survived by her brothers and sisters, and their families; Sherry and Kenny Jone's, Judy and Jim Thiessen, Ranetta and Monte Fulton, Bruce and Della Kenny, Mike Kenny, and Cozette and Douglas Hart. As well as many nieces and nephews, their families, a loving church family, and a loving and supportive community of friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert D. Kenny and her brother Dennis P. Kenny.

If you would like to help lift Sandy up to the Lord, funeral services will be held Thursday May 13, 2010 at Grace Bible Church at 1:00 pm. A reception and celebration will immediately follow. A private burial will be held in Richey, MT on Friday. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Sandys memory to the Rural Cancer Society or the Vision of Light Radio.
