Agnes Long Jaw BearComesOut, Meona’hane’e – Morning Kills Woman, was born October 24, 1934 to Frank and Rosa Long Jaw in Lame Deer, MT. She was adopted by John and Alice Redcloud in 1947. She was married February 15, 1955 to Joe BearComesOut Sr. They raised 10 children on their family ranch on the Tongue River. In May 2017 she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer. Doctors gave her days to weeks to live. And like a typical Cheyenne woman, she outlasted them 8+ months. February 9, 2018 she was called home.
Agnes grew up in the Busby and Lame Deer area. She attended school at the Busby Boarding School. She always enjoyed doing her puzzles, going on cruises around the ranch and in the fields. She loved watching her horses and cows. She always enjoyed having a full house with her kids and grandkids. In her earlier years she liked to bead and makes chokecherry syrup. She made the best pan bread and fry bread.
She was preceeded in death by her parents and husband Joe Sr. Her sons , Emery and Tony; her daughters, Jeannette and Lana; grandsons , Dustin, Jeremy, and Garrett; granddaughters, Monica and Alicia; great grand kids, Jackson Kulawik and Brock LittleMouth; sister, Victoria Walksalong, and brother, Arthur Marshall; adopted brother and sisters, Viola Littlewhirlwind, Lenora Morrison, James Redcloud, and Christine Whitehawk.
Agnes is survived by her children, Joe Bear Jr., Joetta (Luther) Yellow Robe, Tina (Roy) Leamons, Veronica Bear Comes Out, Mary (Gabriel Hart) Bear Comes Out, and Angeline BearComesOut; sister, Irene BearQuiver.
Her grandkids and great grandkids are in order – Charles (Allyssa), Cindy (3), Jolene (Cierra, Travis, Asa, Ethan, and Jaden), Jolson, Jenise, Christine, Jason (4), Tony (Tallan, Isabelle, and Violet), Destiny, Jordan (Kaylee), Lindsey, Steve Barber (Tyreece and Araya), Jace (Aurora), Veronica and Mitchell Kulawik (Gregory, Ambrose, Brandon, and Amara), Emerlynne (Miquelle, Gabriel, and Alejandro), Emery Jr. (Emery III, Etta, Nizoni, and Nicole), Brenda (Maxwell and Leo), and Robert, Cordell (Eloise and Evelyn), Kaydell and Michael Nuanes, Lanette, Briana (Bionna), and Sierra, Kyle and Marlene Spang (Gabriella and Lorenzo), (Uriah Little Mouth), Taylor (1), and Quincy, Sharly (Shylee +1 on the way), Utahnna (Keshon and Aiyanna), Jared (Jaydas), and Spring (Michael), Miles and Ariel Thex (Amari, Armani, and Brayson), Andrew, and Jerry III, Taran (Christian, Leianna and Daniel) Derek, Britney, Devin, and Victoria, Stephanie and Dylan, Alec and Kaya.
Agnes has a very large extended family including: BearComesOut, LongJaw, BearQuiver, Marshall, Walksalong, Beartusk, Whitewolf, Littlewhirlwind, Limberhand, and Belt families. If we have forgotten anyone, we apologize.
