Alma Boschee Decker, 99, of Billings, passed away on May 4, 2023 of natural causes. A funeral service will be held on May 15 at 11 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Miles City, Montana with burial following at the Miles City Cemetery. A reception will be held at the church.
She was born February 28, 1924 in Wishek, North Dakota to Magdalene and John Boschee. Alma grew up in the farming communities of Lehr and Wishek. On October 13th, 1951 she married her loving husband, Dale Decker from Huron, South Dakota. They resided in Miles City and were married for 48 years until his death in 1999.
Alma was an active member of her church in Miles City. She was a member of the Trinity Guild Ladies group, a Sunday School teacher for many years, and a summer Vacation Bible teacher. She and Dale were charter members to help build the current church.
While living in Miles City Alma was a wonderful hostess and cook. Her family remembers fondly her baking German Kuchen coffee cake, pies, and caramel rolls and making her own special German sausage. She took a massage therapy course while her children were in school and especially liked offering her skills to family and friends if they were hurting.
Alma and Dale enjoyed bowling on several leagues, playing pinochle with friends, and camping. Later in their retirement years, they travelled in their 5th wheel trailer to help build churches in other states for the Laborers for Christ organization. In 2005 Alma moved to Butterfly Homes in Billings and continued to love the people and caring environment there.
Survivors include her children Vicky (Bill) Sciuchetti of Lewistown, Ron Decker of Billings, Cindy Pokorny of Bigfork, and Kathy Decker (Bob) of Laramie Wyoming; brother Gideon Boschee, and sister Alleen Beutow.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Rueben, Marvin, Albert, Edwin, sisters Irene, Martha, Edna, and Lorraine and infant son Gary Duane.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 221 S Center Ave., Miles City, MT.

Vicki, I’m so sorry for the loss of your mom. Even though we are “older” now, it is hard to be an “orphan.” Hope you and your family are doing well.
