She loved to show and share stories of her picture albums that were from her younger years. She had a story for every picture! Her mind was very sharp when it came to talking about her days growing up and she loved and took lots of pride in wanting to show you pictures and what exactly happened at the time the picture was taken.
Alvera started services in Sidney with ROI in 1983, were she lived in an adult group home along with her peers. She then moved into supportive living services with Eastern Montana Industries in 1994. Alvera was a kind spirit, loving women who always had a huge smile on her face. She would always be ready to make someone laugh and offer a hug! She was always there to pick you up with a smile and offer a hug when you were sad. She really enjoyed talking with best friend, Sharon and spending time with her extended families. Alvera had many families that had adopted her into theirs, she had many caretakers that loved her as their own.
Alvera enjoyed coloring, arts and crafts, socializing with her family and friends, she loved to go shopping, but who doesn’t! She held a special red blanket at night that she had gotten from a special friend, she wouldn’t go to sleep at night without it Alvera really loved COOKIES and any type of cookies!! She always try to get just one more from her caretakers even though she knew she wasn’t supposed to have more than one!
