Bernard Jay Sample was born May 17, 1949 to parents Earl Alexander Sample and Betty Jean Baker Sample in Forsyth Montana. He passed away at the Miles City hospital October 17, 2021.
He spent his youth in Forsyth till the age of fifteen when he moved with his mother and step-father Kenneth Courteau to Fayetteville North Carolina where graduated from high school and worked various jobs.
In 1995 missing Montana and his family he moved back to Miles City Montana where he worked for several years at Western Industries and Walmart where he retired from in 2011.
Bernard loved visiting with family, watching football, and feeding the squirrels in his yard. We always teased him how the squirrels ate better than him. Bernard was a very giving person always wanting to give you something when you went to visit.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, step-father Kenneth, and an older brother Jackie Ray.
Bernard is survived by sister Sharon Kay Bell in Clinton North Carolina and brother Max Courteau of Miles City, Montana, also several nieces and nephews.

Max, I was just recently thinking of Bernard and I extend my deepest condolences. Mom enjoyed conversations with Bernard. Both were in hospital at the same time, then the Villa & until he left for the manor. Bernard was grateful for all you did for him especially re caring for his cat when he no longer could. I’m sorry for your loss.
