Sal was born in Raleigh, North Dakota on May 7, 1925, the son of Martin and Angelica Kuntz. He was raised in North Dakota where he met the love of his life, Cecelia Frize. They were married on April 24, 1946 and to this union, two daughters were born, Elnora Ottenbacher of Miles City and Linda Palmer of Reno, Nevada. Sal joined the Navy at age 17 where he served on the U.S.S. Yukon, being honorably discharged in 1946. He was a World War II Veteran. Sal worked many jobs but his most memorable being the Milwaukee Railroad. Later he fixed many lawn mowers; we all feel there wasn´t a mower he couldn´t fix.
Sal is survived by his wife of 65 years, two daughters Elnora (Jack) Ottenbacher, Linda (Burch) Palmer, sisters: Rosie Tozer of Denver, CO, Leona of California, three grandchildren: Jon (Christy) Ottenbacher of Billings, MT; Tami (Kent) Myhre of Miles City and Ray Palmer of Reno, NV; six great grandchildren: Alec, Mariah, Taylor and Kylee Myhre of Miles City; Karissa and Tobias Ottenbacher of Billings, MT. Sal was preceded in death by his father Martin, mother Angelica, sisters Annie Pfaff Britt, Marie Farr and Evelyn Walters; a brother Peter Kuntz and a son Richard.

Linda and family,
I’m sorry to learn of the passing of your dad. He was always nice to me and welcomed me into his fanily and home. Even though he wasn’t my grandpa. I have always considered him to be. Give your mom a hug from me and let her know I am thinking of her. Please tell her that she means a lot to me too. Love and prayers to all of your family.
