Collaya Rue Shakespeare, Sesto’eah Hotohke’e (Star Cedar Woman), age 2, of Lame Deer was called home by Maheo on the morning of Friday September 25, 2015. She was born in Lame Deer on February 5, 2013 to Collins Barney and Johnetta Shakespeare. Collaya is the fourth of five children in her family.
Collaya was born into a rich heritage of three tribes: the Northern Arapaho, Northern Cheyenne, and the Navajo. She loved dancing, listening to music, and learning how to sing Peyote and Pow Wow songs. She especially loved to make up her own songs.
Collaya could almost always be found outside playing with her siblings or entertaining herself. Outside was her place to be. She loved riding on her brother’s four wheeler and cruising in the hills with her mother and father. No matter what activity was going on, she would join and be a part of it. Horses were her favorite animals by far.
Collaya wasn’t a shy child, she was very open minded and understanding. Her voice could always be heard announcing the arrival of Gramma Imelda, “Gramma is home, gramma is home!”
She was a curious little girl, always wondering what about what her dad was doing and what was going on. Even though she was very strong and independent and loved to dress herself, she was always excited to show dad what she was wearing. She was fearless and friendly and absolutely loved to eat.
Collaya is just like any other two year old in the fact that she loved her family dearly and always wanted to be with her mom and dad.
Collaya Rue will always be loved, remembered, and kept in our hearts. She will never be forgotten. We all love you baby girl, we will see you again when we are called home.
Collaya is survived by her parents Collins and Johnetta; her siblings: Jayrell, Jayleah, Collins Jr., and Millie; gramma Imelda and grampa Robert; grandma Suzette; uncles Ahnoh, Corey, Jarith, Jonathan, and Zion; aunties: Jennifer, Jozette, and Suzanne.
Collaya comes from a large family with relatives from the Northern Arapaho, Northern Cheyenne, and Navajo tribes. We apologize for those that we haven’t named.
A traditional wake will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Barney Residence at Birney Divide. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Barney Residence. Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home of Forsyth is assisting the family with these arrangements and condolences may be sent by visiting www.stevensonandsons.com.

May Collaya’s family and friends be comforted by God’s promise to “swallow up death forever…and wipe away the tears from all faces” (Isaiah 25:8). Along with the promise of a time soon when ‘no resident will say ” I am sick” (Isaiah 33:24) “Remember the Resurrection hope for both righteous and unrighteous” (Acts 24:15

We were so sorry to read about the loss of this precious young child. It is natural to have questions as to why we lose those we love. You can have faith that God has a plan for us to see our loved ones again. At John 5:28 & 29 Jesus promises us, “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life…” God‘s word offers us so much comfort. We invite you to visit jw.org where you will find many Bible based publications that will answer your questions and offer you support. Please feel free to contact us as well. May “the God of all comfort” (2 Cor. 1:3) be with you at this time.
