Daisy Ann Rowland, “Nahkoha’e” (Bear Woman) age 49 of Lame Deer, was called home by Maheo (Creator) on August 27, 2015 as the result of a tragic accident.
She was born on October 17, 1967 to Donald Rowland and Corrine Fern Hollow Breast in Crow Agency in Montana. Daisy was a daughter, sister, proud mother, proud grandmother, auntie and friend to all.
Daisy, a Northern Cheyenne Member, attended school at Busby and Graduated then she spent time working with the Job Corp in Clearfield UT. Later she met the love of her life Lorenzo Grendahl in 2010, and they lived in Billings Montana for a while then came home to Lame Deer, Montana to make their home and be closer to family.
She was proceeded in death by her Mom and Dad, Aunt Eva Mae Calf Robe, Eli Killsnight, Don Hollow Breast, Roslyn Gladys Wolfblack, Grandparents: Hubert and Cora Hollow Breast.
Daisy is Survived by her children: Dushane Rowland, Esther McCord, Ashley McCord, Verlen McCord, and Tona Colter; Brothers: Cedric Rowland, George Medicine Top, Jerry (Rosie) Rowland, Don Rowland, Philbert Killsnight; Sisters: Ursula Krohn, Judy Tallbull, Ilo (Mark) Wandering Medicine, and Dee Dee La Fountain; Nieces: Philinga (Chad) Anderson, L. Cora Rowland, Shandy Medicine Top, Donna, Dawn Rowland. Step daughter, Haily Grendahl. Nephews; Cedric JD, Eddy Medicine Top, III, Isaiah Whitecrane, Robert Rowland, Jesse (Aubrey) Mendoza, Johnny Wolf Black and grandchildren; Daisy was blessed with two grandchildren that she was very proud of and loved very much. She had other grandchildren from her nieces and nephews. Uncles; Dwight ( Jackie) Bull Coming, Bucky (Charlene) Glenmore, Joe Whitewolf Jr. Close family members include William Rowland, Cheryl Rowland, Raymond Rowland and Denise (Frank Whiteman)Swank, Ronnie Seminole, Rhoda and Dorothy. Aunts: Rita, Lamona and Johanna Redneck, Ida Deafy, Josephine Firecrow, Nancy Fightingbear, Carol (Rock) Red Cherries. Her extended families include: Hollow Breast, Rowland, Redbird, Fighting Bear, Whitedirt, Firecrow, Glenmore, Killsontop, Two Moons, Hisbadhorse. Our family is very large we are sorry if we forget to mention your name.
Daisy had a big heart and enjoyed attending pow-wows, sundances, and participate in ceremonies. She loved to walk and pick berries. She enjoyed camping but most of all spending time with family and friends. Daisy loved to tease and tell jokes, and being on facebook. Daisy was always greeting people, and opened her door to many when they needed a place to stay or eat. She loved animals, especially her dog and cat.
A traditional wake will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday September 1st 2015 In the Birney Hall in Birney, MT. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday September 2nd in the Birney Hall with burial in the Birney Cemetery to follow.
