Davin Ramaro Littlewhiteman, has passed away on October 2, 2023. Davin was born to Omar Littlewhiteman and Lanea Selage on December 4, 2001 in Billings Montana. Davin’s Cheyenne name is Okometameatse’ “Coyote Flying” named after his paternal grandfather, David Littlewhiteman, III. Davin was a direct descent of Chief Black Kettle, Chief Crazy Head, Chief Littlesun and Chief Two Moon on his father side. During Davin’s early years he was raised by his paternal grandparents, David and LaNita Littlewhiteman along with Auntie Andrea Littlewhiteman. Then with his father, Omar Littlewhiteman and step mother, TaRae Whistling Elk at age 11. Andrea and Davin had a very strong bond and spent a lot of time together. Davin is a member of the Elk Scraper Society. He was initiated along with his father.
Davin’s calling came too soon, just beginning his adult life. He was very knowledgeable about anything you ask him. He knew about professional football and basketball players stats.
Davin was raised in Lame Deer and along the Rosebud Creek. On the family ranch, Davin learned to ride horses, did fence work and feeding horses in the winter. Davin began his education at Head Start. Davin attended Lame Deer School and didn’t finish high school but instead decided to complete the HiSet, doing very well scoring college level scores. He attended Chief Dull Knife College for two semesters. Davin was a member of the STEMs program at CDKC. Most recently he was employed at the Northern Cheyenne Utilities Commission in Lame Deer, as Maintenance.
The only sport Davin enjoyed in school was football. He played football in eighth grade and two years in high school. Davin’s favorite football teams were Pittsburgh Steelers and Montana Griz and basketball was Chicago Bulls. Davin enjoyed gaming with his friends online. Davin just picked up on playing pool. He was an excellent pool player. He held the table down for over two hours in Billings, no one could beat him. Davin was a very kind person, very considerate of others, and showed respect to all people.
Davin was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather David Littlewhiteman III, maternal grandfather James Selage, Sr., maternal grandmother Jonita Morrison, and an uncle, Jimmy Nick Selage.
Davin was survived by his father Omar, stepmother TaRae, and mother Lanea, grandmother LaNita, an aunt Andrea (Gary) Littlewhiteman, sisters LaTasha Littlewhiteman, TyAnne and TyLeeya Bobtail Bear and baby brother Camden Littlewhiteman and brother Michael Big Man. Uncles Mickey, Tyree, and Curtis Selage and Steve Carrol, and an Aunt Delrae King. He had siblings from his mother which was very unfortunate that he didn’t get to meet. His special friend Veronica James. And the families from Littlewhiteman, Littlesun, Whitedirt, Spang, Selage, Tangledyellowhair and Morrison. Great grandparents: Lafe and Imogene Dewey and Llevando and Phyllis Fisher.
Davin knew a lot of people and made many friends. He was closest to Cleveland Bement, Charlie and Maynard Whitedirt, Cyrell Whitewolf, Kyler Spang, Eli Lopez Emilo Brady and. Forgive us if we failed to mention everyone.
