About 9:50 am on Friday, August 30, 2019 Deb passed away at St. Vincent’s Healthcare in Billings, MT, surrounded by family and loved ones. Deb was 68 years old.
Deb was born November 25, 1950 in Shelbyville, Bedford County, Tennessee the fourth child and third daughter of Leonard Chesly Rogers and Carmon Edith Baucom. Deb was born on her mother’s birthday as well as being the first of her family born in a hospital. Later in life, she shared her birthday with her grandson, Joseph.
The family lived in Shelbyville, TN in Deb’s early childhood but at the age of 4, her father passed away suddenly. In the same year, she also lost her grandfather and younger sister. A couple years later, her mother remarried and Deb’s stepfather, Ray Gove moved the family first to Chicago, IL. and later to the small town of West Chicago where Deb grew up and graduated from West Chicago High School in 1969. It was there where Deb watched after and tormented her younger brother’s Mike and Robin while their mother worked.
Shortly after high school, Deb returned to Shelbyville and lived there and in West Chicago over the next twenty years. It was in Shelbyville where she met and married her husband, David on May 18th, 1990.
Over the years, Deb’s passion was working in memory care facilities or the memory care floor of residential living facilities in different parts of the country. She spent nearly twenty years of her life in serving others as a CNA helping Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. She loved those people she served and reminisced of them often.
Where ever Deb went, there were children in need of her help as well. Brothers, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and even strangers were in her charge from time to time. She cared for and helped raise, touching the lives of countless children through day cares or live in caring for them, teaching them how to love one another. She was a special confidant for her niece Karen when Karen was treated for cancer in the seventies, listening to Karen share stories of her comfort through her ordeal.
Deb loved Halloween and loved to dress up and create costumes for Halloween.
Deb and David moved to Miles City in August 2006 and have made their home there since, being as active as Deb’s health would allow.
Deb has served in many capacities in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from nursery leader, Sunday school teacher, Relief Society and Primary presidents and visiting teacher. She shared her fun loving personality in everything she did.
Deb was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Carmon, her brothers Wayne Rodgers and Donald Rogers, sisters Angie Thomas, Brenda Carpenter and Billie Cheryl Rogers and her daughters Michelle and Rochelle Speegle.
Deb is survived by her husband David Tailleur of Miles City, Montana brothers Michael Gove of Phoenix, Arizona and Robin Gove of Miles City, Montana and children Jeffrey Speegle of Manchester, Tennessee, Kimberly Hall of Miles City, Montana, Savannah Rost of Helena, Montana and Chase Tailleur of Miles City, Montana, as well as friends as close as sisters, Gwen Butler of Cocoa Beach, FL; Tina Troyanek of Gilbert, AZ and Donna Manning of New River, AZ.
A thank you is given to Drs. Miller, James, Apostol, Jodi Gilligan and Ganz. As well as a special thank you to the nurses and aids that cared for her, Madison, April, Jaime, Ciera, Rhonda, Brett, Danielle, Aby, Stephanie, Kim and Josh H.
If desired donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital in memory of Debbie.

David and Family, Deb truly fought the good fight and endured valiantly to the end. She was an inspiration to me in how she dealt with her health challenges. And you, David, were and are a true role model to me in how solicitous you always were of Debbie and her needs. Thank you for your example, my friend. May the Atonement of Jesus Christ, with all that it encompasses, assuage your grief and give you strength to carry on.
