Mrs. Gregory as I al ways called her was a neat lady. She worked with my mother as a nurse. I was one of the recipients of her Santa cookies every year at Christmas. I will seeing her around town. Sorry for your loss.
Vickie & Dennis Krause says
Aunt Dot was my second mother .., really she took care of me my first month of life since my mom, her sister, was so sick. Infact she took care of all of us. If we went to Dr. Cope for anything, he would ask “What did Dorothy say?” We would reply “Said u better go see Dr. Cope”. We knew it was bad ! Butch might think he’s the only child, but I know all her nieces & nephews were hers, too. Love that woman!! I miss her already!

Butch and all of Dorothy’s family –
Our family became acquainted with Dorothy in the ER at Forsyth’s newly built hospital wing in 1976. She could cut a shirt off a man with heart attack symptoms faster than you could blink an eye! She was all business in her white uniform and cap. Her no nonsense air brought a powerful confidence to both the patient and family! She was an angel of mercy to our Sam many, many times. May you find comfort knowing that many of us share your loss. You are in our hearts and prayers.

Butch and all,
When I think of Dorothy, I can see her wearing that white nurses cap and white dress uniform. She was a great asset to the hospital. They don’t make them like her any more.

Dorothy was a friend of the family back in the early days. The summer before my high school graduation and the summer following my first year of college I worked as a nurses aid at the hospital/nursing home and thought of Dorothy as the very best role model.
I recently was able to say hello to her at the hospital and slipped her a yellow rose to enjoy.
Donna Carroll ( van norman) says
I only knew her for seven years but the impressions and lessons she taught will last a lifetime. My condolences for the families. She was one of a kind and someone to never be forgotten.

John & Billie Taber says
Dorothy was always “Mom” to me. A dear cherished lady who always enjoyed a visit with John in the front yard. We have enjoyed many delicious cookies and candies she would bring us. A soft knock on the back door and there she stood with a place of goodies. She would come in for a visit with us and our 2 Shih Tzu pups. She sure loved doggies and they loved her as well. I will miss looking out my kitchen window and seeing her bedroom shade go up and her looking out to see that everything was ok. When I saw her peeking out, I knew all was well with her. “Mom” we will miss you so very much but we take comfort knowing you lived a great long life filled with love and happiness. Go rest high on that mountain, your work on earth is done, enter Heavens Gates shouting, Behold The Father and The Son.

IDear family of Dorothy, I asked Jim what he wanted me to say about his many years of working with Dorothy, he said there was so many things because she was so special. Our children, age 62 and 59, still talk about her Christmas Santa cookies. Dorothy was truly one of a kind.
Debra Tallent says
I got to know Dot when she joined the Tallent family, got to go camping with her & Adolph & Archie Tallent at the Silos. Plus enjoyed many of her culinary works- best Roast Beef I’ve ever eaten. She was so giving to our family by cooking up a Thanksgiving feast for the Archie Tallent family the day after his funeral. I was a nurse too so we shared nursing experiences. Dot was an energizer bunny for sure and an inspiration for loving and caring for others. My sympathy to all her family.
Tim & Maretta says

To me Dorothy was an epitome of her Nursing profession. I always picture her with her nursing cap on. Always so professional, always take charge. Anyone who knew Dorothy, knew about her traditional Santa cookies. Hold tight to the memories!

So very sorry for your loss. Dorthy was a great mentor to so many, a professional and top notch Nurse. I enjoyed working along side her. May your memories ease your sorrow. Prayers for you all.
Peggy and Earl says
Butch, Caprice, and Guy,
May you find comfort in warm memories, and in knowing others are sharing this sorrow with you.
My first impression of Dorothy goes back to the annual VFW and Auxiliary annual Christmas party. Everything she brought was fantastic, and disappeared very quickly.
A very special memory I have of Dorothy goes back to May of 2006. Earl had his second brain surgery. She came to visit him the day after he go out of ICU. She pointed out to me all the positive things that dictated he would have a full recovery. I will never forget her expertise in assessing the situation in a short amount of time. What comfort and solace her expertise gave me at a time I really needed it !
Nan Quinlan says
Sending my condolences. Dorothy was a great nurse and good example of nursing and caring and getting the job done .
