I always admired Betty. She had a reputation for being a superlative legal assistant for the Brown & Huss Law Firm and I will always remember her as a gracious and elegant lady. I remember seeing Betty and her friend Mila Hopkins enjoying themselves at lunch. I will miss Betty.

I had the pleasure of working with Betty from Aug. 1966 through May 1972 when she was legal assistant for Colgrove and Brown, Attorneys at Law. She was my mentor and advisor, always a lady and the most honest person I have ever known. She so enjoyed her bridge club and having lunch with friends, especially Mila. Rest In Peace Betty.
Martha Crandall says
Betty always took good care of her Mother. She used to decorate to the max for the holidays. With sympathy.

I was so saddened to see where Betty passed away. I worked with Betty for 13 years at Brown and Huss back in the day when you still used carbon paper, typewriters, dictaphones and you took shorthand. Betty was so helpful in training me as a legal secretary. I will never forget how she loved her Harlequin romances and how she would stay over lunch hour and read her books. Betty was such a caring person – she loved her mother dearly and took such great care of her and Betty always talked about her brother and sister and their children. She was so proud of all of them. I also was always inspired by Betty’s friendships with Mila Hopkins and Dorothy Doran. I have such great memories of those days. My sincere sympathy and condolences go out to Betty’s family.

Jean Lemire Dahlman says
So sorry to learn of the passing of Betty McCourt. She was my dad’s legal secretary par excellence. (Mom said she probably could have passed the bar, had she wanted to take the exam) until my dad, Hugh Lemire, died in August 1962 (He did not get to experience the luxury of retiring!). She was extremely competent and oh so very good at what she did. Our sincere condolences to her family.
