Erna Jordan, age 98, slipped into the arms of Jesus, her heavenly Father, on May 14th, 2023, at her home in Miles City, MT. She was born on October 26th, 1924, in Hosmer, SD to Fred and Bertha Junkert and was the oldest of eight children. Erna and Vernold Jordan were married on December 24, 1943. Vernold worked for Montana Dakota Utilities for over 35 years. After retiring in 1988, Vernold and Erna spent their remaining days in Miles City, MT.
Erna was a devout Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart. She had an extensive prayer list of people she prayed for every day. If you were closely connected to any of the family, you were on her prayer list. Erna was known for being a caring mother and grandmother, who babysat most of her grandchildren and some of her great-grandchildren. She was an accomplished seamstress, entering and winning several theme doll contests. She was a self-made home carpenter and built cabinets, tables and even Chinese Checker boards. Erna also enjoyed making a variety of craft projects.
Erna is survived by her two sons, David (Deb) Jordan of Billings, MT; Steve Jordan of Terry, MT; and her daughter, Vicki Clear of Miles City, MT; and by six grandchildren, Darren Jordan, Cheryl Hurley, Carrie Kinn, Craig Hurley, Stephanie Anderson, and Justin Clear, along with nine great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Erna was preceded in death by her husband, Vernold Jordan, daughter, Linda Hurley, one sister, Esther and two brothers, Harry and Milbert.
The family would especially like to thank Michele Mickolio, Michelle Rhoads and the Hospice team for their loving care and support of Erna.
A celebration of life will be held in August to honor Erna. Condolences can be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.

Erna will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and her church family. Erna had a deep and abiding faith in God, family, and life in general. I was blessed to have known her for over 30 years. She was always spontaneous and inadvertently hilarious. Sometimes she left us all in stitches. Her family was always there to honor and support her. She has left this earth; however, she is very much alive in our wonderful memories.

Vicki and family, I am sorry to hear about your mom. I miss those wonderful days when we had Bible studies, pot lucks and women’s retreats together. Your mom loved the Lord and is with Him now. Her dry sense of humor was always perfectly timed too. I know there is much rejoicing in heaven with all the ones we have loved and lost. There is peace and comfort knowing you will see each other again.

Vicki, I’m sorry this is late coming, but wanted to extend my sincere condolences for the loss of your Mother. First your sister, Linda, and then your Mother. How very sad for you and your family. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time.

There are no words to express our sorrow. Please know that we are thinking of you. It comforts her sister, Loreen, that she was a Christian and is now with the Lord.
