Eugene Joseph “Joe” Pigeon IV
January 22, 1959 – April 18, 2022
Eugene (Joe) was born in Beverly, MA. on January 22, 1959. The son of Eugene J. Pigeon III and Virginia L. (Delaney) Pigeon. Joe passed away at his home, Neva’s Place, in Miles City, MT on April 18, 2022.
Joe moved with his parents and two sisters to Lewistown, Montana when he was one years old. He grew up in Lewistown and Billings and moved to North Dakota with his family in 1970. He attended Jamestown High School in North Dakota then graduated in 1977 from Glendive High School in Montana where he enjoyed the sport of wrestling. Joe worked summers for Montana-Dakota Utilities Company and attended college at Glendive Community College and the College of Great Falls via satellite in Lewistown. He joined the Navy in 1978 to 1980 and served as a Corpsman in Guam until he became ill and received a medical discharge.
Joe was a quiet and private man, a kind and giving soul with a wonderful smile. Beloved brother and friend to many. He enjoyed reading westerns, going camping and fishing at Fort Peck Reservoir, bowling, and taking care of his responsibilities at Neva’s Place, which he took a lot of pride in. Planning his own birthday meals for all to enjoy with his now famous “Joe Burger’s”. Joe was always thrilled to treat visiting family to a cup of coffee at Gallagher’s and breakfast, no matter the time of day! He looked forward to his daily visits to the Eastern Montana Community Health Center and especially the outings and activities.
Joe was preceded in death by his parent’s Eugene J. Pigeon III and Virginia L. Pigeon.
He is survived by his siblings; Linda (Jerome) Carlson, Jan (Gerald) Wieler, Charles R. Pigeon, Roland E. Pigeon, Pam (Keith) Wadsworth and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
We would like to give a special thank you to all the staff and friends Joe had at Neva’s Place and EMCHC. He loved it there and truly felt that they were his extended family.

Joe so many memories came flooding back of you, many when you were a little boy growing up in Lewistown and Billings. As your Aunt I got to take care of you and your siblings quite a bit and spent a lot of time with your family. You were a sweet boy and a caring and kind man. Though we lived far away in later years you were always in my thoughts and heart, as you are now and will always be. ❤️, Daisy

I can just see that mischievous smile on Joes face. Our family shared many visits and holidays. I have not had personal contact with Joe for a number of years but Virgie always updated me in our conversations. I remember a couple exciting sleepwalking episodes!
