Florence Brown was born Sept. 30th, 1941, to Agnes and Doug Johnson. She was the eldest of eight siblings whom she loved and created wonderful memories with.
On January 23rd, 1970, Florence was baptized as one of Jehovah Witnesses. She had the privilege of hosting the 1st. Forsyth Congregation meetings in her home. She spent many enjoyable hours witnessing to neighbors and had the privilege of working on numerous Kingdom Hall builds. The congregation valued her zeal and willing spirit. She was known for getting to the Kingdom Hall early to make sure all was clean and tidy before meeting.
On May 15th, 1978, Roy and Florence were joined in marriage. To this union Roy brought 2 girls and a boy and Florence brought 3 girls. Then came surprise number 7. We don’t know how our parents survived. Florence was a person of love, integrity, and the occasional temper that the kids learned to respect while never doubting her love for them. The motto was “We aren’t step, we aren’t half, we’re just family.
Fond Memories of Florence are:
Hikes and picnics in the hills and parks, Teddy bear tea parties, Sunday family dinners, cards and football games.
She was part of the elite group with her sisters, affectionally referred to as the aunties. She loved them all.
Florence truly loved the people in her community. She recently told her daughter “ When I come back in the resurrection, I would be happy to come back to Forsyth. I like it here!
She helped us all to see the positive side of things and talked about Bible prophesy and promises as a reality.
She didn’t want us to be sad but rather to think about the Bible’s promised paradise and resurrection hope soon to come.
And celebrate this future hope together. She will be missed and always have a place in our hearts.
Florence is survived by her husband, Roy Brown; children, Elise (Greg) Muller, Dala (John) Kehler, Gena Brown, Robin (Terry) Candrian, Ray (Rhondie) Brown, Mike (Tiffany) Brown; three sisters, 16 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christina Rhodes, 2 granddaughters, and her five brothers.

Although we grew up in the Bitterroot Valley as did Florence, we never knew her back then. But I well remember when her two brothers drown in the Bitterroot River, one trying to save the other. We finally became friends when the congregation in Forsyth was formed. What a wonderful person we called our Sister. We have many memories of Florence through the years. But the best memory of all was her beautiful smile. Our love goes out to Roy and all of her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
