Floyd Wayne Glenmore AKA ‘Bucky’ (Max’veho-Big Spider) was called home suddenly by Maheo in the early morning of Jan 26, 2023, at the Lame Deer clinic.
Bucky was born on April 2, 1946, to Douglas and Josephine Glenmore, the fourth of five children he grew up in Busby, mt.
Bucky attended school at St.Labre through elementary. While staying at the dorm, he volunteered to be an altar boy for church, often getting up @ 5:00 AM just to have his favorite meal, breakfast. Up until he departed, he still could speak Latin. He attended his high school years at Busby Boarding School and graduated in 1964.
After high school graduation, he joined the U.S Army. As a Vietnam veteran, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge. He was honorably discharged in February, 1968.
Employment for Bucky was with construction, the power plants of Colstrip and finally retiring as the Charging Horse Casino Security Supervisor.
Favorite pastime of Bucky’s was playing bingo and machines at Charging Horse Casino . He had no time schedule, so he could wander wherever, whenever he wanted to visit his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, some of who resided in WY, then driving down to visit his stepson, Joshua Bee Robinson and his wife Candace, and grandchildren, Tynwaya, Jhamai & Mya Robinson in NM 2 or 3 times a year. He enjoyed attending pow-wows, loved gourd dancing and the Native American Church. Another enjoyment of his was ‘mow-lawning’ his football size yard, mowing all the way to the main road with a distinctive design at the entrance. With this practice, it saved our home from the two wildfires that had burned through Ashland in 2012 and 2021.
Bucky was a Northern Cheyenne ceremonial man, being a member of the ‘Crazy Dogs Society’. He was a fluent Cheyenne speaker. Culture and the traditional way of life was very important to him.
Preceding Bucky in death were his parents, brother Ronald Seminole of Busby, sisters Dorothy Glenmore and Verna Oldmouse of Lame Deer, MT; daughter Shanda Glenmore of Ethete, WY and his favorite brother-in-law Roger Oldmouse; his nephew Vydel Yellowrobe, John Glenmore and a very special nephew, J.D. Oldmouse.
Bucky is survived by his wife Charlene, stepdaughters, Dravawn (D’Lerrhn & Dayneeohn), Destinee (Chayceen, Damrynn, Marilynn and Larry), raised by Bucky as his own children were Chalayne (Zendaya) and Chanzlee Whistlingelk.
Also surviving is his sister Rhoda Glenmore of Busby MT, Considering as a brother, Michael Sioux of Lame Deer MT; aunt Jenny Parker of Ashland, MT.; sons Shannon and wife Rhonda Thunder-Glenmore, daughter Janessa Glenmore; Mylan Glenmore Sr, and wife Avalene, sons Mylan Glenmore, Jr. and wife Ranelle Oldman, grandsons Kashis Alonzo and Paxton Dale Glenmore and son Raphael Young Chief; daughter Mona Glenmore and daughter Chaleigha Morris. Shanda’s daughters are Calley Valdez and husband Sherman Redman; Rai’el Valdez, Chaunte’ Redman and daughter Kailani Brown; Joaquin Redman. Chanice Glenmore and husband Al C’Bearing; Tatiana Gambler and son Azaiah Gambler; Ciara Gambler; Dante Gambler and Aiya C’Bearing. Quannah Glenmore and husband Andy C’Hair, children Danaisha Brown, Ayannah C’Hair and Arius C’Hair. An adopted daughter with two grandchildren.
After Bucky’s siblings passed, he stepped up to be the grandfather to their grandchildren. Through his siblings he had 48 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, along with 5 nieces and 5 nephews.
Upon the death of his sister, Dorothy, Bucky spoke to his niece and nephew Denise and David telling them that as a Cheyenne man, he would now step in as a parent to them. David and Denise were extremely close with Bucky as he was always checking on them as a parent would.
The Family wishes to thank the first responders of Ashland, The Northern Cheyenne Ambulance Service and the Lame Deer Emergency Room for the diligent life saving effort provided to Bucky.
Extended Families include: Seminoles, Stands in timber, One Bears, Bearchums, Wolfname, Yellowrobe, Spottedwolf, and Wolfvoice. Also related to Bright Wings, Wallace, Pretty Paint and Aldens.
