Harold Herman Bohlman, age 92, of Miles City, Montana passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at the Rosebud Healthcare Center in Forsyth, Montana. He spent many years battling Alzheimer’s disease.
Harold was born on April 6, 1931 in Debs, Minnesota. He was the son of August and Lydia Bohlman. He lived on the family farm in Pinewood, Minnesota and attended public school in Debs, Minnesota through the eighth grade. He worked and lived on the family farm until he was twenty years old then moved to North Dakota where he worked on a farm. He then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he worked on street construction. In 1951, Harold moved to Montana to work on a farm near Glasgow, Montana. He then went into road construction and was a blade operator for forty-five years. He helped build the interstate and highway system throughout Montana and surrounding states. He moved and lived in numerous towns throughout the state. He was very proud that he had worked in road construction. He retired in 1996.
Harold met Ruth Peaslee Brush in 1962 and they were married in 1963. Of this marriage he had three sons, the two eldest, Ervin and Kirk, he adopted from Ruth’s previous marriage and Leland was theirs. After living in numerous towns in Montana the family moved to Miles City in 1972 so his sons could finish the remainder of their school years in one place.
Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating. He also enjoyed working on cars, trucks, and most anything mechanical.
He is survived by his three sons Ervin (Andrea) of Miles City, Kirk (Marcia) of Pompeys Pillar and Leland (Vicki) of Helena, ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents August and Lydia, Ruth his wife of fifty years and four brothers, Richard, Leroy, William, and Duane.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2020 with family receiving friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A private family graveside will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023. Condolences may be made to the family by visiting www.stevensonandsons.com.
