Hazel Alberta Johnson Schantz, age 94, of Forsyth MT, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at the Rosebud County Nursing Home in Forsyth Mt.

A few years later, Hazel moved to Forsyth MT where she worked as a nurse at the Rosebud Health Care Center in Forsyth until she retired in 1981. She was a member of the Catholic Church of Forsyth. Hazel was always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. She also loved growing vegetables in her garden and feeding her birds and squirrels.
Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Clara Johnson, her two brothers, Carl Johnson and Vern Johnson, her husband George N. Schantz, and their twin daughters Joyce and Judy Schantz.

Heaven gained a top notch RN with Hazel’s passing. She was all business in that white uniform and reassured the ones she cared for. We will miss her kindness and wisdom. My heart and prayers are with you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time and in the days to come. Cherish the memories as they will help you get through the tough days. May you feel comfort and peace knowing that she is now pain free and has joined your dad into eternal life…the best life ever.

My whole live has been touched by Hazel. She was a nurse present at my little brother’s birth; Mom was ever so thankful for her kindness! She and George were some of my parents’ friends. She and Mom always had something to tell each other! Hazel was well-respected by many including my family. She lived a block away from us. God will welcome her with open arms! Well done, good and faithful servant!

Ron and Jay: With these words are my prayers for you and your families. Hazel, your father George, and you two were great neighbors in the Forsyth east end for this awkward kid to visit while growing up. Sure appreciate you all.
