Ira S. Carey, age 62, of El Cajon, CA passed away on November 14, 2014.
Ira was born on December 27, 1951, the son of Del and Bernice Carey. He grew up on the ranch near Volborg and went to country school through 8th grade. He graduated from Custer County High School in 1970. Through high school he continually told his friends he was an only child, but in fact he had five sisters.
Following his schooling he worked on the family ranch for a few years. He then went to work for a construction company in Billings. Later he moved to California and worked for Cass Construction out of San Diego for thirty plus years. He had retired in recent years due to a back injury.
He married Christi Hinkel. He gained a step-daughter in this union and a daughter. They later divorced.
Ira is survived by his mother Bernice Carey, his special friend Maricella Schilpp, five sisters: Karen (Marvin) Wallace of Terry, MT; Colleen (Tom) Hoff of Broken Bow, NE; Patsy (John) Donnelly of Volborg, MT; Julie (Doug) Post of Baker, MT and Frances (Don) Veseth of Columbus, NE; his daughter Marcella Carey of Woodland, CA; step-daughter Katie Carey-Tollmann and her two children, Rileigh and Jacob of Flagstaff and fourteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Del Carey.
He loved his job in California and was a hardworking, loyal employee. However, his heart was in Montana and he always talked of coming home. Welcome home, we love you.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Bible Student says
Hi my name is Mia I’m very sorry for your loss. I know that losing someone you love and care about can be very hard to cope with but the Bible can bring comfort at John 5:28 and Isaiah 33:24.
John says “Do not be amazed at this for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” This scripture is saying that Jehovah God will resurrect our passed loved ones and we will be able to see them again. You will be able to see Ira again!
Isaiah says “No resident will say I am sick.” This scripture is saying that Jehovah will rid the earth off sickness, and suffering.
I’m so glad I could share this with you today and if you have any questions or would like more Bible based good news please visit Jw.org

Bernice and Family, I am so sorry to hear of Ira’s passing. I remember him as a skinny

I was very sad to hear about the passing of Ira (Buggsey) as I knew him. He was a Mentor and friend to me at Cass Construction for many years and one of the smartest guys I ever met, though you wouldn’t know it if you saw him on the job. I’m really sorry I didn’t make his memorial as I moved away from SanDiego in 2010. Buggs was a tough guy to work for, but very rewarding if you hung in there! RIP Buggs !
