Isabella “Sis” Wealtha (Watts) Myran, age 91, of Miles City passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City.
Isabella was born at Myers, Montana on September 20, 1927, the daughter of Henry Jason and Darlene (Meyer) Watts. Isabella is the eighth child of ten children which include: Henry, AnnaBelle, Harold, Herman, Homer, Howard, Harry, Harvey and Herbert. She went through grade school at Sanders Howard Schools and Anderson School. She moved to Kinsey in the winter of 1942 after her father died. Isabella married Wayne Myran on January 31, 1945, to this union six children were born, four girls: Jane, Diana, Shelly, Sheila, and two boys: Curtis and James. They bought a small farm at Kinsey and farmed there until April 1966 when they lost their farm due to a bad hailstorm. They sold the farm but kept the machinery and farmed land for other farmers. They moved to Miles City in 1970 where they remained. Wayne passed away on February 8, 1993.
Isabella loved country music and played in a country band with some of her brothers and in her son Curtis’s band. She played a steel guitar, rhythm guitar and piano all by ear in the bands and sang and yodeled for different occasions. Isabella worked at Coast to Coast from 1989 to 2001. She belonged to the Faith Lutheran Church of Kinsey and then the First Lutheran Church of Miles City where she sang in the choir. She loved to garden, raise flowers and work in her yard. She raised 4 o’clocks and roses and always said working in them was her physical therapy. She also very much enjoyed walking her poodles Ebony and Lucy.
Isabella is survived by her children: Jane (Bob) DeLange, Curtis Myran, Diane (Jim) Schweigert, James Myran, Shelly Miller, Sheila (Don) Nelson, and John Thompson; seventeen grand children: Mike, Mark, Michelle, Jennifer, Dane, Torger, Kari, Jeramy, Kayla, Tanner, Lindsay, Brian, Casey, Laci, Derek, Tori, and Tara. She also had twenty-nine great grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews. Also survived by her are her brothers: Harvey and Herbert (Dottie) Watts, and sisters in law: Audrey Watts, Shirley Watts, Evie Carey, and brother in law: Orville Myran.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Custer County Cemetery. Reception will follow at the First Lutheran Church in Miles City where friends can gather and share stories.
