Jeanne L. Green went home and joined her Savior on January 8, 2023.
Jeanne was born on July 18, 1930 in Forsyth, MT to Guy and Mildred Hough. She married Charles “Sonny” Green on February 24, 1952, who was a rancher southeast of Miles City, MT, where she worked and lived most of her life. They had 3 children, Tana Green, Mary “Peggy” Baker, and Richard “Rick” Green
.
Jeanne enjoyed gardening. She had a green thumb and was able to grow things in Montana that had no business growing there. She also loved art, and dabbled in chalk, did oil and acrylic painting, but watercolor was her favorite medium. She also enjoyed roller-skating, until they convinced her to stop for fear that she would break a hip.
Jeanne was strong, independent, and stood up for what she believed in. She was well liked and respected; everyone she met was a new friend.
After retirement, Sonny and Jeanne bought some acreage 12 miles outside of Miles City where they lived until the upkeep became too much for them. They bought a condo in Miles City and enjoyed living in town. They were both heavily involved at Grace Bible Church. Volunteering and being involved in the community were important to her. Jeanne volunteered in an afterschool program at the church, the art center and the green house, just to name a few. When she helped out at the nursing home, some of the people were younger than she was! Sonny’s health declined, so she spent much of her time caring for him, and she missed him terribly after he died.
As her health declined, she moved into an assisted living facility in Billings, MT. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her brother, Robert (Evelyn) Hough of Squim, WA, and her 3 children: Tana of Venice, FL; Mary of Snohomish, WA; and Richard (Mary) of Las Cruces, NM. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Mean Jean Green was how she introduced herself to me when she was a volunteer at Waterworks Art Museum. She was a sweet, caring and fun loving person. We always enjoyed being around Jean. Took her to the airport one time when she was flying out to Washington to her daughters for Christmas one year and had a good laugh when TSA pulled her to the side to double check the wheelchair she was in and the wheelchair belonged to the airport cab! You are in our hearts forever Mean Jean Green and you will be missed.

The world has lost a wonderful person and she will be sorely missed. The obituary doesn’t do justice to the wonderful work she did as a community member at Stacey. She was a prime mover behind every project, working selflessly and making others’ work more enjoyable. A fun part of any community activity was getting to visit with Jeanne.
Mike Feralio says
Jeanne was such a blessing. She was always the first one at our Bible Studies and Prayer groups. She loved living at Westpark Village and always encouraged me in my ministry there. I miss seeing her smiling face, but I am thankful that she knew Christ as her Savior and is enjoying the presence of the Lord and her husband that she missed so much. God Bless you Jeanne. See you again some day!
