Kelly Ann Littlehead
Born March 12, 1952 to John Littlehead and Dora Fightingbear. Kelly grew up on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation, fluent in Cheyenne language our tribe lost another speaker. She was the baby of the family and the last one to join her family. Although Kelly had no children, she cherished all nieces and nephews, plus all the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was exceptionally proud when one of them graduated. She often shed tears of joy for their accomplishments. Kelly’s besties: Geneva American Horse, Alvera Cook and Cleo Medicine Elk. I can hear the trio now rejoicing as she joined Cleo and Geneva. After Geneva passed on, Kelly took in her son’s Trav and Waylon American Horse. Waylon was with Kelly in her last moments, thank you Waylon for being there for Kelly.
Her siblings that preceded her in death: Dallas “Patch”, Rosalie Bluebird, Caroline Nanez, Gloria “Goldie”, Paul “Nakose” and Maurice.
After completing Recovery she lived out her remaining years in Billings Montana. Auntie was a very humble and loving person. She enjoyed her privacy in last years. She took pride in her home and very rarely left Billings. She kept contact through Facebook and messenger. Many of us will miss her conversations. I will greatly miss the last Littlehead family link. I won’t be able to ask about our family history or ask any Cheyenne questions. Kelly is survived by her nieces: Paula (Clyde) Wolfblack, Vivian (Joey) Smith, Zorana (Wayne) Othermedicine, Carmelita (Hector) Ciscernos, Iva Jo ( Eric) Lockwood, Dawna Kay Littlehead. Nephews: Ronald and Jack Littlehead, Mike and Maurice Smith, Carlos and Rico Nanez, Royal Wolfblack, Thomas, 30 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
