I had the privilege to work with Kendall back in the early 90’s in Dawson County when he served there with the Dawson County Attorney’s office. Kendall was always dedicated and was always all business when it came to work. But when he wasn’t working, he was a great guy. My sincerest condolences to all his family and friends.

To the Family of Kendall Link,
We want to express our sincere condolences in the loss of Kendall. I worked with Kendall when he was the McCone County Attorney, as he would file his documents with me, as I served as District Court Clerk for many years. He will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family! God Bless.

I became acquainted with Kendall when he was an associate with the Cox and Simonton law firm. I had the privilege of working with him on some cases and opposing him on others. He was a very capable attorney and a decent man. I enjoyed his wit and his intellect. He will be missed. My condolences.

Kendall was a wonderful brother to his late sister, Leah. Kendall was a wonderful brother in law to me. Both Leah and I loved Kendall very much. Kendall and the rest of the Link family were with Leah and me in Missoula and in Seattle right up to the end of Leah’s life in October 2010.
You will be dearly missed, Kendall. When you arrive at the other side of the veil, give Leah our love and let her know neither of you will ever be forgotten.

Kendall was a good friend of mine. I got to know him through our mutual love of motorcycling. I will always remember the many great rides we had and the hours we spent together discussing sportbikes. He knew the law well and was always willing to help a guy with legal matters. It will be strange not having him around. RIP good friend until we meet again.
Gary Ryder says
I agree with Laura and Pete. Kendall was a good colleague, a fair minded and capable lawyer. Sorry to hear of his passing Gary Ryder

I met and knew Kendall when he first came to work in Glendive, through his years in Circle and later back to Glendive. He was always a mild mannered, concientious person. He did a good job for his clients and always sought a reasonable solution. My sympathy to his family.
Jim Shrader says
Kendall was a good and generous friend to me as I was growing up. We were friends from 3rd grade at Immaculate Conception School until I moved away in my junior year. Later we found ourselves in Bozeman at MSU at the same time. I slept on his couch for a couple of weeks when my wife finished school early and left for her summer job. It was great being “single” guys for a while. It is hard to think of him being gone. None of these wonderful comments above mine surprise me at all. Sounds just like him.

Ken, Barb and family….I’ve known Kendall since early high school, and worked with him in the old “Culigan Days”, which I’m sure you’ve heard of!…Fishing trips, hunting excursions, shooting matches, and tons of HBO boxing bouts rounded out our repertoire of times together….I wish to God I had some video of our trip to Haxtby, (or known to us( “The Grimbo Triangle”)….or even better yet, “Ingomar Insanity”, a far-flung hunting trip to Ingomar Mt….let’s just say it was vintage Kendall…or Kendall Unplugged!…..I’ve written stories of these expeditions, but they just don’t do it justice!….God Bless you “Kaibab” Kendall……your Guide and Head Scout….Scott “Pondoro” Taylor.

Kendall and I were good buddies and classmates at the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington and graduated together in 1988. I remember his laugh and his keen intellect, a great guy with a kind heart and wonderful enthusiasm, who gave me my law school nickname (Jake). Lux et Veritas, my friend.

When I was a 20 something gas station attendant across from the Vejtasa Sherrif dept in Circle, MT Kendall would stop by. He’d usually been working until 9 or 10 at night. Burning the candle at both ends. We would often discuss literature, theories such as Occam’s razor, or what we thought of varying languages. He was an intelligent man. He was also kind. He didn’t look down on me as some lowly gas station employee. I felt as though we were friends and equals when we had our late night talks. He once showed up to help pull me out of a ditch when I got stuck in the snow. I’m late In posting this here, and I’m sad that I didn’t attend his services. I will always remember him fondly. Thank you Kendall. I wish you peace.

I met Kendall at Indiana University School of Law and quickly became aware of an extraordinary person. Kendall was elemental despite his outstanding intellect. He was comfortable in his own skin and had no problem laughing at pretentiousness. As a charter member of the Eigenmann 10th Floor Shirkers Club he let fly his colorful insights about our oddball dorm denizens as we scarfed up our deadly homemade salsa. We then shared an apartment where we hosted several pasta concoction parties on breaks from his intense study habits. The memory of our grand tour of Montana still impact my life. The Brockway cut across in my bottoming out Mustang, Miles City, Little Bighorn, Bozeman, being chased by the phantom bear in the dark of Yellowstone, the Reedpoint sheep herders meeting, crashing on the floor of a friend’s bunkhouse, and going from summer to winter at Glacier National Park in a day was a great adventure. I gradually lost regular contact with Kendall as he focused his attention to his work, which he always took seriously. I have posted some photos from 1989 that are eerily similar to the more recent photos already posted. I’m glad to know that Kendall remained the same. It has been five years since Kendall passed and it still saddens me. I am sure he made many more people’s lives better than he realized, I’ll have a pound at Nick’s English Hut for you next time I’m in Bloomington. Farewell, friend.
