Leonard Follmer passed away in the early morning on January 13, 2025 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Billings, MT.
Leonard was born in Baker, MT on March 24, 1943. He was the second son of Otilta (Huber) and Henry Follmer. Leonard’s father Henry passed away when he was in the 8th grade so Leonard quit school to run the farm south of Plevna, MT.

Leonard worked at the Baker Livestock for several years. They sold the farm in 1988 to move to Miles City, MT where he ran the truck shop at the Flying J for several years and then began working for Jerke’s Trucking where he worked until retiring.
Leonard was known for being a very hard worker, which he instilled in his children. He was also known for being a “wheeler dealer” especially on vehicles.

I got to know Leonard at coffee. I loved his stories how he grew up and pride he had for his kids. I bonded with him and he was a special adopted uncle to me. A person could tell his thoughts when he would look across the top of his glasses. A beautiful man with a kind heart. He will be missed. Diney

My sincerest condolences to all of the Follmers. It’s a weird feeling when both parents are gone. I hope you are comforted and sustained by happy memories. I did not have the chance to get to know Leonard well, but I do know he was a hard worker and took good care of Helen when her health became so poor. God bless all of you.

Leonard was Leonard,
I always enjoyed visiting with him. He made me shake my head at his comments. I remember him at the Flying J repair shop. He repaired a plastic feed tank for me.
I also enjoyed him coming in the Red Rock with Dana and Larry Jerke. He touched a lot of people. There was no one like him.

I’m glad I got to talk with him prior to his hospitalization. Like me, he was going to hibernate inside until spring. Ha! He doesn’t have to wait till that time now. He’s free from that limitation. Do wish I could be there with all of you at your father’s service. Thank you for including me at his viewing and the pictures. Condolences and love to all of you as you observe his services today. ❤️❤️❤️ Aunt Debbie
