In Memory Of

Linda Livingston, age 79, of Miles City

September 12, 1943 – February 15, 2023

Linda Livingston passed away in her sleep on February 15, 2023 after a long battle with Parkinson’s. She was living at Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City, MT.
Linda was born in Atmore, Alabama on September 12,1943 to Bobbie (Malloy) Chavers and Dewell Chavers. Sadly, her father was killed in England during World War 2 when she was three months old. When Linda was three, Bobbie married John Mills. Linda was raised in a loving home with 4 wonderful siblings, Gwen, Beverly, Harold and David in Memphis, Tennessee.

Linda attended Baylor University in Waco, TX where she met US Airforce Lieutenant Hubert Livingston who was stationed nearby. They were married in Waco and were stationed in Sacramento, CA where their first son Tyler was born. Their second son Jason was born in Glasgow, MT. After Hubert was discharged from the Airforce, they lived in Salmon, ID for several years. Hubert took a position managing a ranch in Whitehall, MT where their third son, Joshua was born.

Linda and Hubert took on the family ranch in Fishtail, MT when Hubert’s father was ill and remained there several years. They then moved to Absarokee where they ran a successful Masonry business and Linda worked on a chicken farm.

They moved to Miles City, MT so Hubert could return to the Bureau of Land Management and Linda started a long career at US Bank. When they retired, they started RVing to a variety of places often staying in Arizona. While travel was challenging to Linda, she did say she loved the locations and the beauty of the landscapes until her illness made it too difficult to travel.

Linda helped her son Jason start a successful truck brokering business in the basement of her home, which went very well until Jason’s tragic death. Jason was special to Linda and his passing was very difficult for her. Since the transportation industry was changing the business dissolved soon after.

Linda was a voracious reader her entire life and was always looking for new authors. Her favorites were well written murder mysteries.

Linda is survived by her husband, Hubert and sons Tyler (Gerianne) and Joshua and Jason’s wife Amy Kelstrup of Miles City, MT. Grandchildren Emily Pratt, Abbey Tetschner, Jesse Livingston, Megan Livingston, Jenna Hodges and Joey Livingston along with eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters, Gwen Ewing and Beverly Holiday and her brothers Harold Mills and David Mills, who loved her dearly and traveled all the way to Montana from all over the country to see her and be with her before her illness made it too difficult. It was truly appreciated.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bobbie and John Mills and Dewell Chavers, her son Jason and daughter in law Joanne (Joshua).

The family would like to thank Holy Rosary Extended Care staff for their exceptional care; Mom was happy and well cared for.

She has been cremated and a private family gathering will take place at a later date to celebrate her life. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.

I worked with Linda at US Bank for several years before she retired. She was a special lady, very caring and always making us laugh. She gave me a recipe for spaghetti carboni many years ago and it is still a family favorite for us. I am sorry for your loss, she will be missed by many.
