Lloyd McKinney passed away on July 25 2021 at the home of his daughter after a short battle with metastatic Renal cancer.
He was born to Lester and Cordella (Johnson) McKinney of the Cohagen area.
Lloyd was a very proud Army Veteran (1959-1963). He spent a year of his service in Germany where he learned to speak German and made many lifelong friends. He traveled to Germany many times during his life to visit his friends and make more friends.
He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved being “Papa” to his grandchildren and never failed to let his wife, daughter, step-son, grandchildren and any family know he loved them.
He enjoyed traveling to China with his wife every year to spend time with their son, his wife and 2 grandchildren.
He was a loyal friend and very good at keeping in touch. Once you met Lloyd you were a friend for life. He loved Country music and the NFR. He was a regular at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas every year for many years.
He was very loved by his family and friends and truly will be missed. His voice, laughter, smile and his ability to make a friend and keep in touch and just call you out of the blue if you were in his thoughts will not go unnoticed.
Our Cowboy is now an angel.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Cordella, brothers, Verne McKinney and Larry McKinney.
He is survived by his wife Linna Xu, one daughter Tanya (LeRoy) Bogart. One step-son Qin Yaojun (Zhang Qin), five grandchildren Chelsea Bogart, Tristan (Brenda) Bogart, Leroy Bogart Jr., Qin Yuechen and Qin Shaochen. He also has one surviving brother Ron McKinney.

Mac as he was known to many of us on the Los Caballeros riding group, was one of the most enjoyable guys you could ever meet. He always had a smile and good thoughts for everyone. He never turned his back on helping anyone. He became a very good friend, and all of us where so happy when he married Linna. So many stories we could all tell about being friends with this great guy.
I will miss him, but he will be with many of his family and friends in the heavens above. I have no doubt he will be watching over all of us.
Vaya Con Dios my friend.

Lloyd was outstanding when I, my daughter, and my then-wife visited the United States back in -95. He proudly showed us his country and arranged visits to my wife’s family. A wonderfully kind and caring man. Thank you very much Lloyd. RIP
