Lucille M. Covert was born October 14, 1928 in Terry, the daughter of Oliver Jones and Jennie E. Tilton Jones. She graduated from Terry High School in 1946 and married David B. Covert on November 17, 1946.
They moved to Richey in 1949 to manage a Reynolds Store, returning to Terry in the fall of 1952. She worked for F.T. Reynolds Co. for many years and in 1966, purchased the Reynolds Store in Terry and with her husband. They operated this store until retirement in May 1990. They extensively remodeled the historic store building during their working years.
Music was a big part of her life. Lucille began playing for church when she was in the 8th grade, continued to play for High School choirs and was a member of a band that played for dances on the weekends. She was an organist in the Community church in Terry and the Evangelical Church in Fallon for many years, playing for funerals and weddings in the community. She was organist for Eastern Star for over 50 years and she enjoyed being a pianist for choirs, trios, duets and quartet groups.
One of Lucille’s great pleasures in life was playing cards with friends and family. Bridge Club was an event she looked forward to every week.
Those to mourn her passing are her three children: Kent Covert, Karen Covert, Connie (John) Onstad; grandchild Lyle John (Tara) Onstad, great grandchildren Katherine, Andrew and James and grandchild Naomi (Conn) McKelvey and great grandchildren Nora and Nolan.
Her husband David, her parents, one brother Lyle and three sisters, Lillian Langemo, Lorraine Siegle, and Louise Schock preceded her in death. Other survivors include a brother Lynn T. Jones and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Lucille’s life will be held at the Terry Community Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 11th at 10:30 AM with internment and lunch to follow. Open Visitation at the Stevenson Funeral Home from 1-3 PM on Friday, May 10. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.

Dear Kent, Karen and Connie, sorry for the loss of your Mom. Especially so close to your Dad’s passing. I believe they didn’t like being apart, now they have eternity together. How wonderful is that?
Peggy Wilson Latrielle says
Karen, Kent, and Connie—Your parents were one of my all-time favorite Prairie County couples. They were always so friendly, positive, interesting, and giving of themselves to others. They were one of my last major links to my parents’ generation of friends. I will miss seeing them on my return visits to Terry. Peace be with you in the knowledge that their lives really made a positive difference to so many.

To all the Covert family.
Your Mom and Dad were two very special people in the community. I got to know them by shopping in their store on a weekly basis. They both wore smiles that were very contagious and always took the time to chat with customers. So sorry for your loss and you will all be in our thoughts and prayers.

So sorry to hear of Lucille’s passing, but you can rejoice in knowing she is with her life partner, Dave. They were such a good pair. You can be sure that she has probably found a foursome for Bridge already. I remember whenever she would overbid she would say “OOPS, I think I got caught speeding” and go set gracefully. Such fun to play cards with her. Love to you all. J
