On October 23, 2017, Marcella Ann (Meyer) Gehringer, 70, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones at the Glendive Medical Center in Glendive, MT.
Marcella “Sally” was born in Minot, ND on December 28, 1946 to Anton and Dorothy (Steier) Meyer. She grew up and attended school in Circle, MT where she graduated from Circle High School in 1965. Sally met Charles (Chuck) Gehringer in Circle and they were married in 1969. They had two daughters, Shelley and Kristin. Chuck and Sally were married for 30 years until Chuck’s passing in 1999. They spent time living in Minot, Glendive, and the majority of their life in Circle.
Sally’s primary focus in life was loving, caring for, and spending time with her immediate and extended family and friends. They treasured her for her no-nonsense yet sincere, blunt yet caring personality and approach toward life. She could always be relied upon for advice or for help in times of need. Sally’s cooking and baking were beloved by all. She worked proudly as a waitress for many years.
Sally was a devout parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church for most of her life. She was deeply honored to serve and help the church in many facets. Her deep faith and trust in God inspired many and she could always be depended upon for prayer.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, best friend and husband, Chuck; brothers Jackie, Joseph, Lee, and John; sisters Dorothy, Regina, and Kay.
Sally is survived by her daughters, Shelley Gehringer, Billings, MT, and Kristin (Paul) Linson, Plymouth, MN; granddaughters, Kylee Gehringer, Circle, MT, Bailee Kurk, Bozeman, MT, Anabelle and Violet Linson, Plymouth, MN; sisters and brothers, Rosemary Bailey, Towner, ND, Donald (Sondra) Meyer, Santa Rosa, CA; Gerald Meyer, Great Falls, MT, Gary (Bonnie) Meyer, Fort Peck, MT, Patti Bradford, Minot, ND, and Bob (Joan) Meyer, Wolf Point, MT; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be visitation from 2:00-6:00 pm with family to receive friends from 4:00-6:00 pm on Friday. A vigil service will be held at 7:00pm on Friday. The Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday with interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery in Circle. All visitation and services will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Circle.
Sally’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at McCone County Health Center, to Sally’s dear friends who supported her, and the nurses and doctors who respectfully cared for her during her final moments at Glendive Medical Center.

We were neighbors for a while growing up. My family moved away when we were 12. I was able to connect with friends in Circle approx. 11 years ago when I came back to visit. Three of us went to visit Sally. So sweet, upbeat and positive. I treasure my visit back to Circle, connecting with old friends.
Blessings and prayers for her family.

Sending thoughts, prayers, and hugs to you all. Sally was such a great lady. I have so many wonderful memories with your family….always fun! Her knoephla soup was the best I ever had and she even wrote the recipe on an order ticket for me one day. I still have it. I can’t make it to the services but know that I am thinking of you all!

sorry for your loss Kylee and Shelly. Your mom was a kind and non judgemental person who I always liked and respected. I know it is hard but she is in a better place now and that should be rejoiced. I hope you get over the pain and anguish soon. I grieve and pray for her and you both. Love you. Brandon

wish i had the words to convey here but they escape me. Sally meant more to me than any of you know. We were in such sporadic contact that you’ll never know how much she meant to me. She was a terrific friend and i’m betting a great mom and grandma. It hurts you, i know. I wish I could take the pain away. But you had the best in her. Remember that always..
Patty Linson says
I know Sally is going to be greatly missed. I wish she had lived closer to Fargo so I would have had a chance to spend more time with her and get to know her better. I am so grateful that she had the great daughters that she did. Kristin became my daughter in law back in 2000 and I love her dearly. I have heard so many stories from my son about all her awesome cooking and baking. I understand she was second to none. Shelly, Kylee, Bailee, Kristin, Paul, Anabelle, and Violet, my heart goes out to you. There is really nothing I can do to take the ache and loneliness away but I know the Lord will be with you each step of the way with his strong loving and comforting arms wrapped around you. He knows your prayers and hearts even when you dont know what to say. Blessed be the memory of this dear woman, Sally.
