Margie was in High School with our Mother, Shirley Rye who would remember her as Donaleen’s young sister. Donaleen was one of our Mother’s best friends and Don and Kathleen McRae were best friends with our grandparents, Obert and Signe Rye. Margie came to the Rosebud County Golden Girls luncheons and when our Grandma hosted it, everyone was to bring a memory from the past….Margie brought all the beautiful hat pins that Kathleen had collected through the years. She loved showing them to everyone! There are so many memories that we share with Margie and one of the latest was when she and Kent visited our Grandmother during Colstrip Days. They drove their vintage pickup truck to Colstrip and in the parade! I think it was red, but it was so awesome! They were so happy and excited to be in Colstrip and catching up with our Grandmother. I remember Margie laughing and telling us that one of her Granddaughter’s was a high fashion model and said, “who would have believed that?” Please know that we are thinking of all of you and will keep you in our prayers during this time.

Mage was a class act — so intelligent, insightful, full of faith and friendly while being a great cook and homemaker and busy all-around lady. And a strong Scots quality, too! We thought the world of her and Kent, and our world has been a better place because they were part of it for so many years. Our sympathy and prayers go out to all the family, and we will plan to be part of her celebration in June.

There aren’t enough words to express what an impact your mother had on my young life. Marj was such a beautiful, caring person, and welcomed all of the Rosebud children into her home so we truly knew what it meant to be loved. What an inspiration to all of us, and the love she and Kent shared made us all want to achieve what they had. What a glorious day of celebration for them to be together again! I feel so blessed to have known your mom….thank you for sharing her. Our love and prayers are with all of you, and may you be comforted by the beauty your mom brought to this world.

I remember as a child in Rosebud going to spend my first sleepover at the Montgomery’s, I was so scared and shy, but Marge made me feel so welcome and comfortable. The last time I saw her at the Rosebud County “Golden Girls” gathering she told me how proud she was that I had her sisters name. I felt so honored. She was a true gem. In the last several years it was my pleasure to take my dad Nick Parker to visit Marjorie at the home. We were warned that she may not remember us but that never stopped my dad from visiting such an old friend. When we entered the room it was like a fog of magic descended on the room as Marjorie said Hi Nick and they proceeded to share warm memories of Friendship and Family I hope all of you can make such friends for life as did these wonderful folks from a passing generation
