Marjorie Ann Haynie Massar Pawlowski, age 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 9th, 2023 in Circle. Her strong faith in the Lord was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Marjorie was born to George and Lena Haynie in Dickinson, ND on Nov. 21st, 1935 while they were en -route to visit family in Iowa. She grew up on the family farm north of Circle with her eight siblings; Katherine, Hanz, Fred, Georgie, Marvin, Julia, Darlene (Babe) and Rudy. With that many siblings, there were always plenty of playmates. She had fond memories of attending country school, helping her mother, and visiting neighbors on Sunday afternoons.
When they moved into Circle for school, they attended the Lutheran church every Sunday. Church played a major role in Marjorie’s life both spiritually and socially. It was through church that she met a very special young man, Harold Massar.
After graduation from Circle High School, she married Harold on June 30th, 1954. They lived on the ranch one mile north of Circle where they raised their four children, Vicky, Clay, Wade and Cindy. Marjorie was suited to country life raising chickens and a garden. But tragically, on February 4th, 1973, Harold was killed in the crash of his light plane.
Marjorie married Marvin Pawlowski May 25th, 1974. They were blessed with a son, Jeremy. They lived on the ranch until 1994 when they moved to Circle. Tragedy struck again on November 16th, 2001 when Marvin accidently stepped through the barn roof and died from the injuries.
Her days were spent working in her yard, quilting, and working in her photo albums. She left her family a treasure by documenting daily life in these beautiful photo albums complete with journaling.
Marjorie showed her love to family by sewing quilts for graduations, weddings and babies.
She had a deep faith in the Lord which permeated every part of her life. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who spent many hours in prayer for her family. Her door was always open for advice, hugs and good food. She was very excited to become a grandmother. Her home was a safe haven and it was often filled with the activities of grandchildren in search of a fun game or snack!
Marjorie was a long-time member of the Faith Assembly of God Church and spent countless hours serving others in many capacities. A highlight of her week was meeting with the Lutheran ladies to sew quilts for missions.
She experienced many trials and joys throughout her life, and yet she remained consistent in her walk with the Lord. She was always positive and found the good in everything and everyone. Her advice for living was, “Make sure the Lord is first in your life, because He is the One who takes care of you. There will be difficulties, but He will be there to carry you through. He will never leave you or forsake you. He’ll be your friend forever. No other person will be as close and dear as the Lord is.”
Marjorie is survived by her children: Vicky (Jim) Jensen, Clay (Laurie) Massar, Wade (Jeanna) Massar, Jeremy (Toni) Pawlowski, 16 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Massar and Marvin Pawlowski, and also daughter Cindy Schieffer.

Margie was a very special friend. When I moved from Texas to Circle in 1971, Margie was one who helped me through tough times. I remember catadas we did at Faith Assembly of God, and Margie and I sometimes did duets. Even though I no longer live in Circle, I will miss Margie and the beautiful lady she was. She is now home with her Lord and Savior.
