Marvena Soldier Wolf, Mene’a’e (Choke Cherry Woman) went home to be the Lord on September 2, 2023 at St Vincents hospital in Billings MT. Her contagious laugh and humor will surely be missed.
Marvena was born in Crow Agency on October 19, 1951 to James SoldierWolf and Florence Harris. She attended school at St. Labre and graduated in 1970. She worked at Northern Cheyenne Housing Authority and Montana Power where she worked until she retired. Marvena was never scared of hard work. She met Maynard Limberhand and together they had one son Jimmy SoldierWolf. Later she met David Littlewhiteman and together they had Steven, Stephanie and Stanley Littlewhiteman. Marvena loved to read books, berry picking, and being around her family and friends. She loved her early morning coffee and Marlboro reds. Most of all she loved playing bingo. If you played bingo with her you better be paying attention, she was an extreme bingo player and would dob your numbers if you were too slow. She had many good times with her best friend Linda Simpson and crew. She also enjoyed spending time with Julitha (Judy) Littlebird. Marvena would always tell you how it was, cuss you out if she had to, and give you the hard truth. She would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She was always willing to help anyone in need. She was the best mom/auntie anyone could ask for and she was always just a phone call away.
Marvena is survived by her children Stanley and Stephanie Littlewhiteman and James (Jimmy) SoldierWolf of Lame Deer. Her Brother Manford SoldierWolf, Sisters Lazona Harris and Alfreda Heart. Grandchildren Zahriah (Her partner in crime), John, James, Joseph, Steven Jr., Ali, Stevie Mae, Stryker, Stetson, Chase, Jolauna, Josiah, Kaylee, Kallie, Donnita, Kaelyn, Myleigh, Eli, Adrian, Anthony, Arianne, Angelina, Abby, Connor, Sharley, Ricki and Moo. Nieces Rachel (Charlie), Lorna (Shawn), Mariah (Jesse), Nicole, Ronette, Robin, Merle (Maria), Ted, and Hubert Jr.
Waiting to greet her at heaven’s doors are her parents, her brothers Milo Bighead, John Strangeowl, Jimmy SoldierWolf, and sister Lorna SoldierWolf, her son Steven Littlewhiteman, nephew Anthony Baker, grandbabies Abel and Dalanie, and her special sister in law, Darlene Soldier Wolf.
