Melodie Jayne Seymer sadly passed away unexpectedly in her home on December 3, 2023.
She grew up in Navarino, Wisconsin, and had lived in a number of places through life before finally settling in Miles City, Montana where she spent the last six years. She was passionate about many things in life, such as gardening and cooking, and had great pride in everything she did and accomplished. That pride and joy thrived over the last four years while working at Tongue River Winery, where she could combine her love of working with plants, people, and food.
A self-titled gypsy, she found herself surrounded by friends and family anywhere she went. Always so vibrant, full of life, and such a social butterfly so many people found it difficult to resist her charm. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, friend, and any other title people may have chosen to call her.
She is survived by her children Katelynn Schroeder, Nicholas Schroeder (Brittney Rohan), granddaughter Brianna Rohan, siblings Marsha Urban Betzner, Joseph (Janis) Urban, Nancy (Jon) Doran, Gary (Lisa) Urban, Cindy (Jeff) Schroeder, godparents Bob (Marilyn) Thaden, and so many more family members. She was so very loved and will be sorely missed by each and every one of them, as well as by all who knew her.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone that helped make her life so full and cherished.

My heart broke hearing this! Rest in peace melody. Always such an angel when I saw her – said nothing but kind things to those around her. Heaven truly gained an angel ππΌ

My sister and I stayed with Melodie for a week this past summer and thoroughly enjoyed her warm welcoming hospitality. Her talents were many, from cooking, growing things, carpentry, wine making, business acumen, to landscaping. She cared about the environment and the earth’s creatures. She was such a hard worker. On the occasions when she could find time to visit, she never failed to mention the respect and love she had for the Thaden’s, whom she considered family. She loved her children and grandchildren.
I offer my sincerest and deepest condolences to Melodie’s children, the Thaden’s, and other friends and family. She will be sorely missed but she definitely left a beautiful and indelible impression on those fortunate enough to have known her. Requiescat in pace/may she rest in peace.
