Michael Lee Foote, Sr., Maheameoestse “All Runner”(given to him by his uncle Ralph Redfox) age 46, of Ashland, was called home by Maheo on Wednesday July 29, 2015 in Billings, MT. Michael is the son of Clifford (Octa) Small and Edna Redfox-Seminole and his uncle Ralph (Marsha) Redfox.
He was raised in the Ashland area and graduated from St. Labre. Upon graduation, he met Roberta Redfield and they moved to Billings, where he worked for Big Sky meat packaging for several years. From this union they had two sons, Michael Foote, Jr., and Terran Foote.
His hobbies were hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, and spending time with his sons.
Michael was a hard worker and held several jobs. He was a firefighter with the Northern Cheyenne Forestry, laborer for the Northern Cheyenne Housing Authority, roofer with Bradford Roofing, and a certified flagger.
Michael was a very well-liked person that had many friends. He could always be counted on for anything and will be dearly missed.
Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Mabel and Horace Small; maternal grandparents: Robert & Cecila Redfox; his brothers Robert Foote, Jr. and Robert (Sonny) Redfox; and his sister Reva Redfox.
Michael is survived by his sons: Michael Foote, Jr. and Terran Foote; mother Edna Redfox-Seminole; father Clifford (Octa) Small; uncle Ralph (Marsha) Redfox; brothers: Winslow (Charlotte) WhiteCrane, Vincent (ClaraAnn) WhiteCrane, Verlin Foote, Jason Su, Curtis Yarlott, Merlin, Eli, Quintin, Brandon, and Clifford Small, Jr.; sisters: Eva Foote, Connie WhiteCrane, Karen Redfox, Jennifer Spang, Alisha Small, and Shannon Small-Thomas.
Michael’s paternal aunts are: Jennie Lou La Franier, Wanda Martinez, Carla and Gail Small, and special aunties Geri Small and DeWanda Little Coyote; uncles: Clayton Small and Horace Small, Jr., his maternal aunts are: Mae Monothy, Ethelyn Charlie, Florine Taylor.
Michael was related to the families of Brien, Wolfblack, Haugens, Russell, Eaglefeathers, and Woodenlegs. His nieces and nephews are too numerous to mention, but they all had a special place in his heart.
We would like to mention a special thank you to Riverstone Health and Hospice Staff for taking such wonderful care of Michael, Heritage Living Center, St. Labre, Northern Cheyenne Tribe, and Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home. The family would like to thank everyone for their support and donations at this difficult time.

Michael was a very special soul. I wanted make a couple of additions… His partner & girlfriend of two years, who shared his life – Del Marie Littlebird… also his brother – Mervin Small. Michael loved deeply, forgave without question, and would give a friend anything he had. Growing up with Michael, he taught me so much about patience and walking away from trouble, and truly listening to a live one. I loved him deeply and his loss has impacted me in a very profound way. You were deeply loved my dear uncle. My condolences to his sons – MJ & Terran.

Michael was a special person and cousin….Del and him often stopped by my house…even if it was for a drink of water…..he was my own personal dog-catcher….even our dog loved him….he will be missed but never forgotten…..all of our loving relatives that went home before you will be waiting for you with open arms…..Give Auntie Joann a big hug for me!!!….I’m gonna miss you coming into the store Michael….REST IN PARADISE DEAR COUSIN….
