Michelle Buckley was born August 6,1961 to Jennie Seminole Parker and Shirley Parker in Crow Agency, she was given her Cheyenne name by her grandma, May’ay’yoo ” women appears”. Growing up Michelle loved to ride horseback and help her dad and brothers on the Ranch. Her mom would get a kick out of her on branding days from watching her always gagging at the smell of things, if you grew up on a ranch I am sure you know the smells. Michelle was always dressed up, one time she had big fancy boots on ready to go and ended up having to get down in the mud to pull a calf and was mad her boots were ruined, if you knew Michelle I am sure you can picture the colorful praises coming out of her mouth. Michelle attended St. Labre Indian School where she made many memories and lots of friends. All through her High School years she spent them representing St. Labre as a cheerleader. After High School, Michelle had Toy at the age of 21, after Toy was born, she took a job working in Colstrip Mt at the Power Plant where she worked for about a year, then left for college where she went to school to be a counselor. Michelle comes from a family of chiefs who honored her when she received her buckskin dress. Michelle met the love of her life Carl in 1988 and they were later married in 1990 in a traditional wedding at the Parkers Poor Farm Ranch where she grew up, their marriage lasted for 33 years until Michelle lost carl to his battle of cancer. You could never catch one without the other. The love these two had for each other was one of a kind. When one of Michelle’s Brother first went into Sundance, her mom was teaching them how to lulu and jokes were being made about how Michelle sounded like a young coyote. Michelle always enjoyed a good laugh. One of the many things Michelle liked doing was making big dinners to cookouts for Super bowl parties that her and Carl enjoyed watching together. Michelle enjoyed large gatherings and welcomed praise for her cooking skills. One thing Michelle and Carl both loved to do was ride the Harley. They never missed a year of going to the Sturgis Rally. On their many trips to visit Carl’s family they would often take the Harley and make a little vacation out of it. Michelle loved jamming out to music she was a rock and roll kind of girl. Michelle loved antiques; she had the quite the collection. When Carl first became ill, Michelle was a dedicated care giver to him, making sure he was very well taken care of. Michelle and Carl were each other, their love, their life, it was always the two of them and their fur baby Tiny. We find comfort knowing that Michelle and Carl are reunited again. Love you all, Michelle.
