In Memory Of

Molly Medicine Elk, age 79, of Lame Deer, MT

June 9, 1934 – April 1, 2014

On April 1, 2014 our Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Great & Great-Great Grandmother and Friend has returned home to her creator Maheo and her loved ones that went before her. Molly, S’e’vohe’ne “Fast Growing Woman”, was a direct descent of Chief Littlewolf, who led the Cheyenne back to our homeland.  Molly, 79 years old was born on June 9, 1934 to Elsie Josie Killsnight and George Walter Jr. She attended Busby Boarding school in Busby, MT. She worked for Westmount Home Care as a home care provider for the elderly and Bear’s Security watching vacant Air Force units on Eastside for NCTHA. She took it upon herself to watch the unit 24/7. Molly enjoyed doing word puzzles, reading and watching her favorite western programs on TV, Bonanza and Gun Smoke. She also enjoyed playing her little poker games. She was very close to her family and enjoyed being with all of her grandchildren. Molly raised her grandchildren, Curtis and Sonny Crazymule, Jonathan Medicine Elk, Miranda Morrison and Leanna Little Sun.
  Molly married her late husband John Medicine Elk Jr. To this union they had Anna Mae Crazymule, Late John Sonny, Susie Ann, Sandra and Zethal Medicine Elk. She also took Candace Elkshoulder and Julitha Littlebird as her adopted daughters. Molly is survived by one brother, Roger (Mable) Killsnight Sr., her sisters, Irene Bear Quiver, June American Horse, Ethelene Killsnight and her sister in law Rosella Killsnight, her daughters, Susie Ann, Zethal Jean, Sandra (Russell) Medicine Elk, Candace Elkshoulder and Julitha Littlebird. a special friend Jolene Three Fingers, her nieces, Loraine (Tom) Waters, Charlene (Joe) Alden, Jolene Walkslast, Emmaline Gleason, Elizebeth Braided Hair, LaVonda Brady, Claudine Cano, Event Lopez, Nadine Killsnight, Renae Bear Quiver, Loretta Leon, Roseann (Wayne) Headswift, Gertrude (Clovis) Drucella (Ambrose), Velicia Doncella Killsnight and Olene New, her nephews, Joseph Waters Jr., Eric Sr., Lucus, Marvin (Laretha) Killsnight, Martin, Otto (Barbara) Braided Hair, Steven (Linda) Brady, Merrill Killsnight Fernana, James Anthony Killsnight, Frank Bear Quiver Jr., her grandsons, Curtis, Sonny Crazymule Jr., Jonathan Medicien Elk, Davis Wounded Eye, Hubert (Veronica) Russell lll, Linwood Hisbadhorse Sr., Dorek, Justin(Teri), Lloyd (Bobbie) Littlebird Jr., Daniel (Hailey) Blackwolf Sr., Cameron Elkshoulder, her granddaughters, Mary Jane Russell, Kara Tallwhiteman, Leanna Little Sun, Loylene Littlebird, her great-grandchildren, Curtis Jr., Sonny Jr., Anna Mae, Layla, Allison Crazymule, Jamel, Conner, Jonathan Medicine Elk of New Mexico, Kanya Russell Shay, Shakaya Whiteman, Shawn Little Sun, Michael Guvera Jr., Brittney Bixby, Julytha Lara, Leisha, Ruben Cole, Chalisa, Chaslty, Chreas, Chelise, Cylene Leah, Lloyd lll, Julytha, Doerk Jr., Carson, Leah, Terrain, Jullian, Justin Littlebird Jr., and her great-great-grandchild, Tahlayla Littlebird.  Molly was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Anna Mae Crazymule, her son John Sonny Medicine Elk, her sister Agnes Littlehead, her brothers Avon, Louis Sr, Martin Killsnight Jr. her grandchildren Miranda Morrison, Larold Littlebird Sr, her great-grandchildren Sage Whiteman and Littlebird Jr.  Extended families include Callfirst, Spotted Wolf, Spang, Cooper, Flying, Huff, Waters, Bear Quiver, Killsnight, Cano, Gleason, Hisbadhorse, Teeth, Soldier Wolf, Medicine Bull and Littlebird. Our family is large so if we have forgotten to mention someone we apologize.   The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at St Vincent Healthcare and for the help and prayers from everyone.

    I will miss Molly whenever we visit Lamedeer, MT. again. So sorry to the family, may she rest in peace. And I pray that the Family are strong for each other. I’m so glad I got to meet her.
