Myrtle Ruth Johnston Cooper, age 93, of Circle passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the McCone County Nursing Home in Circle.
Ruth was born February 4, 1920 in Central City, Nebraska, the daughter of Cecil and Myrtle Ruth Johnston. She was an avid crocheter and quilt maker. She was very involved in the Lutheran Church Quilt Club. Ruth moved with her parents from Nebraska to Montana in March of 1929 with four younger siblings. Five other siblings joined this family in the coming years. Ruth heard of God’s great loved and believed in her heart that Jesus paid for her penalty of sin on the cross. She then accepted Him as her Savior and was born into God’s family. She is right now enjoying heaven.
August 11, 1947, she married Gilbert Lloyd Cooper of Richey, Montana where they were involved in farming for some years. To this union two children were born, Melvin Virgl (Patty) on October 5, 1948 of Glendale, AZ and Virginia Ruth (Waldo) July 30, 1951 of Springdale, WA.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Cooper on February 3, 1994 in Glendive, MT, an infant son Keith on June 25, 1953, infant grandson Clinton on February 27, 1971, a five year old great granddaughter Sascha Waldo on March 15, 2003 along with her parents Cecil and Katie, 3 brothers: Dave, Eugene and Lawrence, and a sister Marjorie Ziegler.
Ruth is survived by her children, five grandchildren: Bradley (Angel) Cooper of Glendale, AZ, Bryan (Trisha) Cooper of Cabot, AR, Shad (Rennette) Waldo of Miles City, MT and Shasta Waldo of Springdale, WA; six great grandchildren: Tyler Cooper (Cheyna) of Phoenix, AZ, Crystal McRae of Phoenix, AZ, Amanda Cooper of Glendale, AZ, Brandon and Zachary Cooper of Cabot, AR, Alyssa and Dylan of Federal Way, WA, and her surviving siblings: Johnnie (Beverly) Johnston, Helen (Harold) Hoffman, Mary Johnston, Ella (Tom) Anderson, Ruben (Mary) Johnston and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 from 1:00-6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Circle. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Circle. Private interment will be held in the Prairie Lawn Cemetery.
