On the morning of September 1, 2018, Norma Lee Nevins passed away from complications of kidney failure. Norma was being visited and comforted by family members at Avantara Rehabilitation Clinic in Billings, Montana. Norma was 91 years old.
Norma Nevins was born in Dor, North Dakota on April 11, 1927. She was the fifth daughter of Leslie Gosnell and Gilbert Nevins. Her parents had a sugar beet farm and raised cattle.
Norma graduated from Fairview High School in Montana in 1945, where she was active in many clubs including: band, mixed-chorus, pep squad, press club, yearbook staff, junior class queen, and girls’ basketball.
On February 3rd, 1947 Norma married William Clark of Sidney, MT. She gave birth to her daughter, Jeanne Clark on November 14, 1947. She and William moved to San Diego, CA. in 1951.
Norma later married James Binswanger in San Diego, CA in 1960. She worked at Daley Corporation as a receptionist for many years, until she retired at the age of 65. She always had the warmest greeting for everyone she met and went out of her way to make others smile.
In addition to her work at Daley Corporation, she was ahead of her time and the HGTV house craze. Norma had an incredible talent for decorating homes and gardens. She used her artistic talent to purchase, improve, and sell 7 homes for a profit, in the San Diego area.
On her own, at the age of 65, Norma left San Diego, CA and returned to her roots in Miles City, Montana. She was able to spend quality time with her sisters, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews. With her quick wit and charming personality, she made fast friends in Miles City, who would remain very dear to her until the time of her death.
In Miles City, Montana, Norma bought a 1890’s farm house and spent the remainder of her life pouring her heart and soul into it as she remodeled it to make it her dream home.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Clark, son-in-law, Howard Clark, granddaughter, Robyn Johnson, grandson-in-law, Lance Johnson, and great grandchildren, Kyle and Lena Johnson.

Dear Jeanne, Robyn and families:
Norma and I had many years of fun in addition to working together in the Election Office. She was a best
friend and a mentor to me in many areas of life. We had fun in whatever we did together or talked about. Norma loved her family and was especially proud of her great-grandchildren. They are amazing young people! She looked forward to Jeanne’s annual visits which they had planned to the minute! She loved when her granddaughter, Robyn, called and especially when she came to visit, too! Miles appreciated the trips he made with Norma to clinic appointments, Lab visits and senic rides he took her on. It was by discription towards the end because of her diminished sight. She mentioned her appreciation of her health care providers. We miss you right now and always will BUT we are thankful you are at peace now. We love you Norma
